Getting past this injustice is definitely where I am stuck. I gave her everything I had. I protected her for 14 years. I helped take care of her. I stood with her through her cancer journey. After everything she ended it. She set my entire soul on fire. Replaced me with another guy within six weeks. She took my whole life and everything I believed in about the world away from me. I lost half my life with my son. I don’t know how to let this pure rage from her betrayal out of me.

I went through a divorce last year. Im still not over it and I'm not sure I ever will be. "Broken" is an understatement and my entire marriage was an injustice.

It is a huge injustice... emotionally, mentally, spiritually, monetarily and so much more. Too many spouses just give up and run away, hoping to find happiness somewhere else, when they should have attempted to work it out. The fact is... BOTH partners have made mistakes, and both need forgiveness and the humility to change.

Nice work. I think you could have added that the context of divorce in the US sets us up for this by being in the legal system. The legal system is mostly designed to punish bad people, people that do bad things. So if a guy is dragged into court and punished, they probably do internalize the injustice on a practical level. The courts don't take money away from good people. They don't take kids away from good people. But divorce does, and it doesn't matter one ounce how good a Dad he was, he's still getting things taken away from him, and given to his ex who in my case is a psychopath. And with the number of women who are coached by their lawyers to lie to gain an even greater unfair advantage, well, only an idiot would think otherwise. But in the end the divorce settlement is only to do one thing - divide the assets to decrease the likelihood that the women and children will end up on permanent government support. It's not about good and evil, or even fair or unfair. All they are doing is trying to keep a woman and children from being homeless. The courts don't care for even a second whether the man becomes homeless, so, the system is rigged. But it's not personal at that level, men are just a statistic. No matter how good a husband or father you were and are, the system was going to TRY TO chew you to pieces. Which is why you focused on resilience. Like I said, good work.

Thanks for this video. Yes, reparenting the inner child was very helpful to me in recovering from the intense emotions the divorce triggered.
  • @davidcalixte9785
Wow this really spot on. I never thought about this in such a way.
  • @Spiderman519
Great Video Mrs. Sloan. The child analogy was on point 🔥🫡

Between yourself and Heidi Priebe I am receiving some wonderful help. Thank you. I will check out the masterclass. It’s so hard to move forward and not think in terms of being shattered and shuttered. Steely-up I say to myself- but it helps only in that moment. The cycle of sadness and frustration keeps pushing me into anger and despair- two places that don’t offer much constructive advice. I really resonated with the idea that “I was being punished (thru divorce) by being removed from relationships- 3 grown kids, wife, dog- and moreover, that even though they all still exist physically, the relationship as it was is removed - and that reinforced my despondency. One day, one piece at a time, though. Chin up.

The dragons we don't slay live to torment our children.
  • @anilbalram7768
I get it but you have to manage yourself as a child. There's tons of instances where being overly emotional and open at the wrong time is detrimental. That example with the girl was just the wrong time.
  • How ironic, that the man she wants to throw away and not fight for family is Thrown out window like a worthless piece of trash, yet that trash cost her hundreds of thousands of dollars. She would rather pay that much to be free, but not spend a dime trying to save anything. Ok I’ll take the check 😂
