About me:
Hi, I'm Harry, and I'm intensely passionate about personality typing and self-development - so much so that I have created my own Jung-inspired system, taking a more high-resolution look at the factors making up personality.

Through Cognitive Personality Theory I examine the underlying mechanisms behind cognition, and the means through which a single type can have limitless individual variation - I believe type itself is just a set of cognitive predispositions that can according to the needs of the situation be overcome.

I don't believe any type is limited in what they can achieve, but have noticed sensationalist attitudes and internet trends propagating a culture in which type-development is actively discouraged in favour of conforming to simplistic archetypes. Through CPT I hope to dispel various myths and oversimplifications of what constitutes personality type, and along the way encourage a healthier attitude towards type that allows a person to become not who they are told they are, but rather who they want to be.

Anakin being an ISFP is a good typing for him 👍🏼

As an ambiverted ENFJ, Padme really does sit well with me so thanks!

As a resident diehard star wars fan, a. This video was so fun to watch, and b. There “is” a Fi-Ni grand scale (and even altruistic) goal for Palpatine to create the empire, but it’s now shaky because of Disney’s having changed the previously-established canon- the short version is, he knew there was a great threat to the galaxy, one that it wasn’t on track to being prepared for; but rather than warning and trying to improve its state through more conventional means, he decided to uproot it all, and rebuild it so that it could stand against that threat- under his direct control.
  • It's fun to deep dive into fictional characters like this. In a way, it helps explain how personality types and cognitive personality theory works better than when the listener is trying to compare how the theories relate to himself. I'd agree with your assessment of these characters and of Star Wars in general. A fun listen. I'm going to share it with one of my favorite Star Wars fan groups on Facebook as I think the members will enjoy listening to it.

I find your movie character typings so good. I think this was one of your best. The only one I don’t fully agree on is Obi Wan, but I thought your reasoning was fantastic and I think you nailed Padme and Qui-Gon Jinn. Well done, I wish there were more in the community who typed the way you do. It would be a much better place in my opinion.
  • Interesting how Anakin Skywalker is a character that was first portrayed as an Estj and then in later movies as its complete cognitive opposite Isfp 😁 I hope for Squid Game analysis next 🙏

Padme is quite hard to type, she’s quite dry emotionally in the films and her character isn’t really fleshed out behind her being a “good-doing” politician and Anakin’s love interest. We’re not really exposed to any of her flaws, only ever her virtues which makes it hard to identify her inferior function for example.
  • These videos are the best at typing fictional characters I've ever seen! You need to do more, good job!
  • @rafalgula7825
Vader and Yoda are the same type🤩 That's weird.. I like it. I'm FI NE by the way.
  • @bongocastle
You should most definitely continue on with this series! It's possibly one of my favorites you produce out of your channel :)
  • @benh2678
I recently discovered your channel. I am singularly impressed by the thoroughness of your work. Keep up 👍

Great, more Star Wars CPT content! I was waiting for the rest of the characters' analysis, haha!
  • @Multitudes_
You can attribute type changes between movies to something happening that could change the person's type, but you can also just blame the writing and consider it a mistake! After all, inconsistent or poorly thought out characterization is not uncommon in fiction. Granted, it may be more interesting for some to think about how the person's type might have actually changed, which is fine too.

So happy to see more of Star Wars: The CPT Connection Hope you are doing well Harry, and am looking forward to when we are able chat again (likely late September)!
  • @RussellGi
Great video Harry. I have enjoyed pretty much all your videos and have find them invaluable in my quest to get even more As in my Psychology masters. Which as a dyslexic, wouldn't have been possible pre iPads and the YouTube era. Keep up the good work and perhaps this video will help explain the cognitive functions to my friends, who don't have a clue what I'm talking about when I mention the subject. Regards & my sincerest thanks for this & your more mind bogglingly & intellectualised high quality content from Scotland!👏

If you haven't yet, could you do a guide on typing people the way you did in this video?
