These companies' ability to incorporate in Ireland, license their technology to their American branches, and send that tax money over there needs to addressed. They used all the benefits of the United States when being built. They use all the benefits of the United States when suing in our courts. Use all the benefits of the United States Navy to protect their supply chains over the oceans. When it comes time to pay for that, they're Irish.

One thing is for sure the wheels of justice are way more patient than people are.
-
Absolutely, the owner of this fascist entity we call Ytu-be is also one of the most fascist companies in the world, zero sympathy to them. The mere fact we must encode some texts and ideas or risk delete of our comments.

If no one goes to jail then it doesn't mean anything.
-
Hopefully this was just the beginning. Monopolies in tech, media and finance have ballooned out of control and are affecting our rights.
-
I hope when they break them up, they will split off Double-Click, Chrome, Android, and YouTube as separate companies, too.
-
Apple will suffer the consequences for its practices this year. Watch for the Berry vs Apple lawsuit over the misappropriation of the Air Tag design.

I get Matt's newsletter. He is an interesting character. His point about big companies worrying about AT enforcement and being better neighbors is well stated.
-
“That wasn’t your worst appearance. Close to your worst.” Glenn abusing his guests really cracks me up. A truth teller cannot do otherwise.
-
It means pretty much nothing. Like a fig leaf, all it means is "Exercise the bare minimum of discretion, will ya?"
-
I dont know if ppl remember, but there was a time when competing search engines wouldnt show up on the first page of a search. Instead they were paid ads on how to optimize your business advertising, and links to articles flooded with pop ups.
-
Google does not have the right to push their ideologies through how they structure the results of searches. Results should be unbiased and the public should be able to see varying information.. but they dont, because Google makes sure they see the results they like first.
-
When Glenn said “rules in favors of the government…” I threw up in my mouth. Anti trust laws are probably good but god our government sucks.
-
It's about friggin time! American needs to get rid of all monopolies!
-
It's not Google's search dominance that's the issue, it how they politically bias their search algorithms to control society that's the issue.
-
Yeah, sure… wait for the appeal. They know what judge they need to get in front of.
-
"It was one of your better appearances..." lol, just couldn't resist throwing that left-handed compliment out.
-
What good is anti-trust legislation if the government's the biggest supporter of these oligopolies?
-
Monopolies are bad but censorship is still okay. I think our values are corrupt.
-
I know that you are only playing Devil's Advocate when making that "Google is the best" argument. Sadly, its search has now become trash.
