My 5 year old son Matthew is obsessed with trains. This is his favourite video and he watches if every night before bed. Thank you for putting the videos up! (Our local station is Bidston so he gets very excited when it features!)

Just had a thought....Could you imagine how long it would take to travel on ALL the different Train Services in London....including all Tube lines as separate operators?
  • @KwangoTron
Great video. At first, when you were changing from Warrington Central to Bank Quay I thought you were trying to avoid TPE Roulette. Then I remembered they call at Newton-Le-Willows. 😅
  • In the absence of direct trains from Manchester Piccadilly or Victoria to Holyhead on SailRail, having a direct train from Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime St to catch the ferry or ship to Dublin as a foot passenger is the next best thing - I wish that Irish Ferries and Stena Line would consider this and even if they had the Dublin Swift Fast Ferry from Liverpool old port (not Birkenhead) to Dublin for foot passengers only, even the Ulysses or the Stena Adventurer, this would make for a very relaxing 8 hours crossing from Liverpool to Dublin

As a person from Widnes , yes it used to be Widnes north , but tbh only a 15 min walk to the town centre . Our bigger station used to be further called ditton junction where you could go more places like London . So glad you visited my local station !

Always wanted to know how many trains I’d have to take on this specific line! Nice to see Eurovision! Another amazing video as always Nick!
  • @Thornaby37
Certainly a very interesting journey travelling on six different classes of train as well as the six different TOCs There used to be a loop line serving the centre of Widnes. The current Widnes station used to be called Farnworth, and then Widnes North
  • Warrington local here, I love to see a fellow warrington local on YouTube as one of my favourite youtubers

Another brilliant video and well narrated. I was in Man Vic that morning and noticed the stranded trams as I travelled in from Leeds. It must have been a sudden cut in power and the passengers they must have had to walk safely back to Victoria with heavy rail trains running by must have been interesting. I’m guessing you were there in the afternoon and they still hadn’t powered it up!!

Excellent video. Got to say the change at Central for Bank Quay threw me from what I was expecting you to do to get 6 TOCs (my natural instint was you'd pick up a Cleethorpes-bound TPE at Warrington Central and change for TfW at Oxford Road)

Rn I’m doing Liverpool to Manchester airport on as many trains as I can . You’ve inspired me thank you so much
  • @ToucanTrains
I tried this today and I managed to use TpE, XC, LNWR, WMR, & Northern
  • Hi Nick that was an excellent video mate and I really enjoyed watching you travelling on all the different train operators Liverpool to Manchester.
  • @Sim0nTrains
I see you Widnes a Path and took a walk on it 😂 Great video Nick, I was expecting some fancy graphic to show up for TPE Roulette (Mind you it feels like that with CrossCountry Trains at the minute) and soon LNER as there a overtime ban coming up in July

0:53 The 730’s you said you like are replacing the 350/2’s

Me and my son got a train to Liverpool lime street from Hough green to Liverpool lime street last month on a northern electric train
  • just three bits of History on your journey. 1. Liverpool south parkway station is built on the site of former south Liverpool Football club which was the first ground in the country to host a floodlit match. 2. Widnes station is where Paul Simon sat and wrote 'Homeward bound' (simon & Garfunkel). 3. the Golden Gates in Warrington were initially intended for Buckingham Palace.
  • You didn't mention that "Homeward Bound" was written on Widnes (North) railway station by Paul Simon...... er, actually, he's since admitted he STARTED it at Widnes (North) railway station - but there's still a blue plaque on the station that says he wrote it all there!
