Nice work! You are an inspiration to this 60 year old rider. Thank you!

Perfect video! I'm getting into my old 04 crf230 and slowly rebuilding her. Got new plastics and tires but noticed when that carb just isn't working as it should. This would be much needed upgrade. So thanks!

Killer videos bro super informative for someone new to workin on bikes
  • Your trying to turn a frog into a prince and loving every minute. Think I'm starting to figure it out. Maybe I'll get my 40+ year old XT Yamaha out of storage. Will be watching your next race.

Great information. Although I have a 250F I still ride the 230 a lot. This swap looks so worth the effort.
  • @SasquaPlatypus
I've been binging your 230 videos now dammit I've got to go spend a bunch of money on mine 😀

The fuel Inlet bits can be heated up and pulled out, they are a tight press fit. Some suitable loctite when you press it back in will keep it fuel tight. Getting a grip on it is a pain, but can sometimes thread a bolt in it. I see you got it later in the vid. Make it a nicer finished job when the lines fit
  • I use PE28 reamer to 30mm in my 230, pretty light carb, good responsive, and easy jetting
  • Can't wait for to finish this build. I'm looking to do everything as you are. Was wondering what would be better big bore kit or high compression pistion. I haven't found a big bore kit that is both.
  • So on the needle you used the one out of the old factory carb, With the clip in the richest position correct? Your Information is so useful.

I know you made this a while ago but is it possible to get more information on what you did about the gas inlet fitting?? Thanks!!
  • hi, i have some question as i am doing the same mod. My first question is you says to dremal the intake boot. i noticed that the intake hole on the head is the same as the boot. How is dremaling just the boot helping if the hole diameter in the head is still the same. Di you do anything to the head side, or that side of the boot? Next question. When i went to install the Carb, i had issues with the throttle cable where it attached to the carburetor. the throttle cable was not long enough when attached to the bracket and on throttle resulted in the carburetor slide being part way up. Did you change the throttle cable? or use the same 2 line one that came with the stock?
  • @elijahsmith2615
Where do you route the 3 lines that come on with the carburetor?? Also how do you change out the fitting that comes into contact with the frame?
  • @jaype331
Internals will wear faster with that much more power running through
  • I have been looking on EBAY for the CARB in the video, but none have looked the same. What year and model bike is the replacement for?
  • @kenlevine9146
Do you have a part number for the elbow inlet you installed?
  • Does this have a 250 jug as well? Im having running issues with the bike i bought
