This Wyoming Ghost Town Is Absolutely Incredible!!

Published 2024-07-21
In today’s episode, we’re in Wyoming exploring Miners Delight Ghost Town.

Miners Delight was established in the late 1860s during the gold rush in the South Pass area of Wyoming. It quickly grew into a bustling mining town with a population of over 300 people. The town had several saloons, stores, and even a newspaper.

As the gold rush faded, so did the town’s prosperity. By the early 1900s, most of the mines had closed, and residents began to leave. Miners Delight became a ghost town, with only a few residents remaining.

Preservation of the abandoned town began in the 1960s.
Miners Delight Ghost Town is a stark reminder of Wyoming’s boom-and-bust cycles that shaped the state’s history.

Reconstructing while still using as much of the old as possible is better than just letting it go back to earth. That is if you want people in the future to see how things were. History....

1:58 I see Ralph and Alf Monroe bros. Built the chimney . LoL 😂
  • I recommend anyone going to Wyoming check this out along with neighboring ghost towns Atlantic City and South Pass. If you book ahead of time you can tour the restored Carissa Mill. We went over Labor Day weekend 2021.
  • Where you passed all the collapsed timbers and some steel cable was the site of a head frame.

Amazing how long buildings will continue to stand after being abandoned.
