What type would you make your gym if you had the chance? Let me know! Let's try and smash 100 likes!
  • @REDscar9000
there should be a canon pokemon game like this honestly
  • @YoungTrizzy7
There used to be a myth when I was a kid that when you beat the elite 4, 100x you would be granted a gym of your own. Guess who got trolled....
  • @TitusRedwind
You remember that electric type Gym leader that lost his passion and went up to hang out in the lighthouse in one of the pokemon games? Seeing you fight the same trainers over and over, I think I understand what he meant.
  • @karkaton2333
Only Carries 1 potion the whole playthrough, just like a regular gym leader
  • @M0rbidFates
Fun fact: that Rough Rider that keeps you prisoner will give you infinite soda pops and lum berries until you escape.
  • As a game concept, the trainers you invite to hang out in your gym should screen out the weaker trainers. Like, you could really shoot yourself in the foot by inviting a strong trainer too early, who wouldn't let anyone below level 40 pass while your own team is in the 25-30 level range. It could also make THE MAIN PART OF THE GAME more fun, instead of pointlessly using Blisseys as punching bags.

These are the starters of each type. Bug: dwebble, scyther, larvesta. Sig move: x-scissor Dark: sneasel, stunky, houndour Sig move: dark pulse Dragon: gible, bagon, Dieno Sig move: dragon claw Electric: pichu, shinx, joltik Sig move: thunderbolt Fairy: ralts(female), togepi, cleffa Sig move: dazzling gleem Fighting: riolu, tyrogue, makuhita Sig move: brick break Fire: vulpix, growlithe, magby Sig move: flamethrower Flying: gligar, doduo, noibat Sig move: acrobatics Ghost: misdreavus, duskull, drifloon Sig move: shadow ball Grass: cottonee, cherubi, petilil Sig move: energy ball Ground: Hippopatas, diglett, phanpy Sig move: earthquake Ice: swinub, bergmite, lapras Sig move: ice beam Normal: eevee, munchlax, kangaskhan Sig move: return Poison: nidoran F, nidoran M, skorupi Sig move: poison jab Psychic: solosis, sigilyph, bronzor Rock: onix, rhyhorn, aerodactyl Sig move: rock slide Steel: shieldon, ferrosead, aron Sig move: flash cannon Water: buizel, horsea, chinchou Sig move scald Most of these pokemon are unable to be found in the wild so if you want a sun team for a fire gym choose vulpx an wait till you can vacation to get you ability changed. Ground is by far the strongest start with a sand stream Hippopatas, sandshrew and wooper and there are close to no grass type trainers in the game.

Maybe this concept isn't great for an actual game but I'd love to see some kind of "Gym Maker" in a new pokemon game. You would make your own "minigame" layout, place trainers by yourself, give them pokemon from your PC, make your own leader or fight as a leader and share the gym online.

What would be cool and was hinted at in Pokémon Origin : gym leaders have different teams depending the amount of badges the challengers has. Like, you can't just wipe people with a Tyranitar, you have to have viable strategies not only with your core team but also with the two poor geodudes you throw at newbies, with interesting yet restrained movesets and items.

I think there's real promise for a type of Pokemon game where you have to play the role of a gym leader, but you start out in a town on a low route. As a result, you have a level cap on how strong the team you bring to your gym battles can be and have to beat scrub trainers with a level 10 - 15 team of two - three pokemon. Outside of gym battles you can have your actual team of pokemon and you use those to go to regional ranking matches where you square off against other gym leaders to see where each of your gyms gets seeded. Higher seeds get to have stronger gym teams and start attracting gym trainers that weed out the plebs for you. Once you hit 1st seed, you can start going for the regional equivalent of the elite four, topping out at regional champion.
  • @AsuraDandy
the one thing that this game needs is actual gym fighters in your gym that weed out the weak trainers, you know, just like how most gyms are. Could make it like a tower defense where you can customize the path to you, use AI to predict how battles will go and see if they defeat the fighters you pick.
  • @ivoizzy123
If you can get promoted to the elite 4 that would make a perfect post game for a mainline game. Also world tournaments every now and then would be cool too
  • @WhitneyLin
I tried this game using ghost type. The beginning was not easy for me. There was one trainer that kept beating me and I had to over level and hunt down other types that could use shadow ball till I was farther in the game. There was also one trainer not in the gym that I had to keep avoiding early because they had a normal type and all my attacking moves were ghost 😅
  • @Israfel36
You literally never stopped talking for thirty one minutes. I'm not even mad, I'm pretty impressed honestly.
  • @thiccElite
This is just what it feels like to be placed on the ai trainers side as the player gets infinite healing items
  • @patitoduck123
This really makes you realize even gym leaders go through the typical 9-5 workday. They have to make time for themselves
  • @ZhouTai08
You know, why hasn’t someone made an official version of this game? This is an awesome concept for Pokémon that’s been unexplored, kinda like getting to play the evil teams that exist in the universe.
  • @xakannax
looks like a cool game, it seems like you need to spend more time exploring and def get some items over buildings (trainer battles give income too right?), are the tms on the ground places that could maybe have helped?
  • @WholeGrain632
Nooo way!!! I did not expect that ending lol such a strong boss. Dude your tempo, commentary, and floor were very entertaining and engaging. 30 minutes went by like nothing
