Rodney was at the top of his game here. A joy to watch, even 45 years later.

2023 and we’re still laughing Rodney. You are missed and loved ❤️❤️❤️

What a performance. He was non-stop and Carson couldn't stop laughing. Making people laugh is a very respectable profession..
  • One of the funniest things Rodney ever said was just before he passed when he said if the heart surgery he was about have was successful he would be out of the hospital in a couple of days but if it wasn't successful he would be out in a couple of hours. He always caught you off guard with his humor. RIP Johnny and Rodney...

That was the best 10 minutes I've spent in a very long time. I feel alive again. Rodney was the man and Johnny was the King!

I’m 69 years old now and Johnny with Rodney was hilarious every time. I miss these guys. The best. RIP!

In 1989, I saw Rodney when he was touring the country. He did a 90 min set that was, to this day, one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. There were about 3K-5K of us in the audience, and all of us were in pain by the end of the show. He absolutely killed that night. And it was all 1-liners, which makes it even more incredible.

There will never be anything this good again... I remember watching Carson in the 70s and 80s with my grandmother late at night... It was the best times ever... Now it's a sad memory...

This might be the best ever Rodney appearance on Johnny's show. Home run after home run for eight minutes.

I'll never get tired of these clips. Johnny was the best. He could interact with anyone, but when a great comic was on, it was fantastic. RIP gents, you are missed.

All the times I've seen Rodney this is probably one of his best sets ever! Saw him live at the sunrise theater in fort Lauderdale and My stomach and face hurt from laughing for 4 days after that! it's dangerous seeing him live because he doesn't give you time to catch your breath between one joke and another and it's just a constant one long laugh until it's almost like a dry heave! Rodney was beautiful...

So I'm at it again sitting here receiving my therapy watching Rodney with Johnny and I'm almost crying with laughter---works every time. Thank you Rodney!!!

Rodney had me laughing so hard, it brought tears to my eyes. The tears are also from the wonderful talent of Johnny Carson. It’s just amazing what a class act he really was. Super talented! I’m grateful I got to grow up in this era. The late night of today is horrendous. I wouldn’t give any of the current late night hosts a minute of my time. RIP Johnny.

When late night TV was worth staying up for! Sure miss those days.

Caddyshack. Easy Money. Back to School. Comic genius and not a one would be made today. Pure genius. His timing was second to none.
