Treasure Planet... A cinematic gem, a nostalgic favourite, and a philosophical masterpiece. Harbouring themes of individualism, absurdity, good vs evil complex's/morality, and much more...
Take a journey with me back to the early 2000 stage of Disney.

As a total simp for this movie I consider it a Heavenly blessing whenever this movie is recognized for its worth.
  • I actually don't like the theory that Silver is Jim's father that left. The meaning of the story is finding a father figure in someone else, someone that didn't abandon him. If Silver is actually John's father, it would go against everything the movie is trying to say.
  • The romantic ideal of the pirate wouldn't exist as it currently does without Long John Silver from the original Treasure Island and John Silver from Treasure Planet is an even better version of the character in my opinion.
  • I always hold a special place in my heart for this movie. It was a very unique and well written masterpiece and it has always and forever will be in my memory.

That is beautiful you stated many things I felt throughout the movie. It’s also my favorite and very relatable and gives me courage. The movie is not hated it’s just widely unknown unlike other due to poor marketing and release date to other more popular movies and sequels of the time. I still have the dvd and Disney plus in Greece doesn’t have which saddens me. Disney set it to fail to find an excuse to the cheaper 3d animation which it worked but was it worth the cost? This movie deserves more love and appreciation and recognition despite its Oscar nomination.

great video man i love seeing analyses of this movie!! even with all the sleeper love it gets its still far too underrated. ❤
  • Imagine going to jail in 2000 and getting out in like 2015 and seeing all these Disney movies that came out. It would be wild.
  • Congrats, this is a great video, I’ve just made a tattoo from treasure planet and you described most of the reasons that I made it!
  • Tresure planet dosent really have a victorian style, its more 18th century to napoleonic. Tho it has alot of steampunk vibes, that i can agree with.

Great vid! Little tip, it's really difficult to hear the bits where you play clips from the movie, sound is dialled ALL the way down for some reason, your voice is fine tho.

My man, Treasure Planet is the best. While girls have their stories of princess', us lads have a tale abour adventures, and fathers. This video hits any boy close to home. As someone born at sea and with wanderlust, this is MY movie.
  • I just watched it. It's amazing. Especially the music. It has a Touch of 1950s Pirate movies. It's very subtile. I lkned the Action scenes the best. And the relationship between Jimmy and Silver. It totally doesn't feel line a Disney movie. It's a Don Bluth movie, made by Disney.
