Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2 | Transformers: Generation 1 | Season 3 | E30 |
Uninfected, Sky Lynx rescues a Quintesson he needs to revive Optimus Prime, hoping that he can stop the Hate Plague. The operation is a success, but with the Hate Plague spreading across the galaxy, there is very little time to celebrate. Optimus leads a team of uninfected Autobots with innocent lives at stake in a desperate bid to recover the Matrix of Leadership, hoping that an answer can be found. Optimus is forced to ally with Galvatron to retrieve an experimental metal that shields its user from heat and radiation to save the galaxy. But when all the Autobots and Galvatron become infected as well, Optimus must find the cure and save the Transformers, mankind, and the entire galaxy.

This episode was Hasbro's way of basically saying sorry for screwing up killing Optimus Prime in Transformers The Movie.
  • @SuperLuis225
The fact prime managed to make galvatron act like a normal person for a few moments shows why he was the best leader
  • @mecha53107
I love how they brought back The Touch for the ending.
  • @BolivianFighter
“The wisdom of the ages. It’s lost.” “No not lost. We’re all a little wiser now.” Wow do I love that line.
  • @danostrom205
"The only way to fight such madness is with wisdom" Vivid example of how the greatest cartoons have deeper meaning than people realized as children.
  • @MrSniperfox29
The most surprising thing about this two part episode was that Hasbro weren't actually selling Optimus Prime toys at the time, and had him brought back because of the number of complaints from heartbroken children
  • @NPCSingularity
I love how Galvatron was way too excited to hear Optimus’ voice. He was happy to see his old frenemy back from the dead to save his ass.
  • @thebaxman4459
Optimus Prime's line "if I do not try, there may be nothing to return to" was extremely profound in this episode.

20:25 “There will be no war today, Optimus Prime. You have earned Galvatron’s respect.”
  • By the end of this two parter, Optimus Prime united the Autobots, Decepticons, Quintessons, and all of humanity.
  • @marclewis5505
20:26 Galvatron showing his respect for Optimus Prime is still 1 of the most awesome moments in Transformers G1 history 4 real.

19:16 Every kid who watched the movie must’ve cried in Joy at this scene. LONG LIVE OPTIMUS PRIME
  • @aurafireheart
You have no idea how happy it made me to hear Optimus use his catchphrase again. Heck just seeing him back again warmed my heart.
  • When even Galvatron acts sane and nice to you you know that was some deep crap
  • @luckygnome
"There will be no wars fought today for you have earned galvatron's respect." The series should have ended there where they made peace.

5:07 Optimus Prime: Autobots, transform and roll out!😁 Hearing him say that again as a kid gave me chills yo
  • @aleaj169
I wish Optimus had said “that’s because I know you to well megatron” would’ve really hit home
  • @ufnavy06
I wonder how lonely Optimus' trailer was the entire time he was gone.
  • @mbbarnes80
Who else gets that wonderful sense of nostalgia when they hear that immortal song by Stan bush After all these years “the touch” is still an amazing song
