When I was in NYC I went to a park and a chess hustler called me a cheater. It all got quickly resolved and he was super nice - visit him if you're ever in Washington Square Park! His name is Nahshon. :)

"it was a misunderstanding, I''m sorry". I wish more people were like this guy.

What a legend. Knows when to apologize and takes the loss like a champ. Respect
  • @gonzo26nix
I really appreciated how once he learned that he was mistaken.. that he immediately apologized. the table banter was great

This guy sounds like an NPC from GTA
  • @domfalv
Still relatively new to chess but I played that guy when I was in NY. He knew i wasnt very strong so avoided the trash talk, spent a long time explaining to me different things to look for. Good guy, was pretty angry when i saw the Dina video

He's a great sportsman. Friendly conversation - not malicious in any way. We need more chess players like him.

I just played this guy and then he gave me a chess lesson. Very nice guy and a great character.
  • @emerson_west
That was great. Good people, good talking, good time. So rare these days. Thank you both!
  • His trash talk was all in fun and entertaining. Anna held her own with her infectious laugh and a few of her own jibes. I like how the loss did not faze him. He was ready to begin the rematch immediately.
  • Dina lives in this guy's head rent free. One day he'll get his rematch, and catch the real cheater.
  • Anna- you are so refreshing to watch thank you for posting these videos. This one was just a fantastic interaction and the ones you did with John were incredible.

I love the clean fun polite trash talk! That and the master chess playing made the video.❤ Two very good players!

I've watched this twice and will probably end up watching it many more times. Great drama, mistaken identity, quick sincere apology, then they went off to the races and had a great match with fascinating banter. Cheers to you both.

Dina cheated to get a stalemate out of Nahshon. Never told him that. He got to know from other people who saw her video. Then comes Anna, with her lovely smile and positive energy, to teach everyone how to win a game honestly and beautifully. It filled my heart. 👏🏻

I love the way two completely different cultures can come together and show one love ❤️…to be able to talk crap while playing is an art form in its self and the way chess moves the people to interact is what multiculturalism and real war(on the chess board) is really all about

Pure joy was in that match! Pure absolute joy! Wonderful watching two people, who love the same thing, both from across the world, engage in what they love. A chance encounter in New York! A friendship, even briefly, was recorded in time! Ty for this video!
  • @Bawamba
Haha he sure lookin for that cheater til this day 😂
  • @Punchy-Mango
I know next to NOTHING about chess, but this was absolutely amazing to watch. The guy's energy was matched flawlessly and it just looked so fun!

I once played this same guy in that same park. He’s EXTREMELY intimidating. We played a blitz game in which he took everything and decided to run me out of time.
