More About Screw Drivers:
Crazy physics and high-speed races! Craft vehicles cleverly by combining building blocks and mechanical parts to create powerful drivetrains. Unlock new parts, race for the gold, and challenge your friends in multiplayer.

DESIGN YOUR CAR'S POWERTRAIN

Build cars with combustion or electric engines, or maybe both? You design the powertrain using axles, gears and suspensions to get the power from the engines through the wheels and onto the asphalt. Whether you build rear-wheel-drive, or power all 30 wheels of your speed machine, as long as you engineer a gear transmission, you are guaranteed to go!

CREATE INFINITE VEHICLES

Design and engineer your own car, truck, tank, plane or whatever you can think of in the easy-to-use build editor. Whether you have 4 wheels, 16 wheels, propellers, pistons, or 50 engines... vehicle construction is all yours!
Realistic or ridiculous – it’s up to you!

CHALLENGE THE MONARCHS

There’s a group of fancy royals convinced they have the best cars in the world, and who better than you to prove them wrong! Each monarch uses different building blocks to activate special mechanical features in their vehicles. Challenge them and beat their creations to unlock new engines, wheels and gears.

RACE FRIENDS AND FOES

Take your top turbo-powered creations, start up a multiplayer server, and invite your friends to race around the island together in a variety of tracks and challenges!

You DON'T want to put engines directly on the drive shaft, because they will be dead weight when your car goes above their max speed! Always put them behind the transmittion, so they can work all the way through. Also, your top speed does not matter, if you can't even reach it because of weight and air resistance! If your engines are too weak, they won't be able to accelerate past the air resistance, even if your theoretical top speed might be lightspeed. For example, your new car had a top speed of 500, but you never went above 200 because you didn't have enough acceleration.

now we need the "breaking the sound barrier in screw drivers!" video
  • @Hazey_Dayz
Aye if you go in the settings and turn on the setting to manually shift you can spawn in freeplay and watch whats happening as you shift without having to floor it and deal with the wonky camera!!

Planetary gears are just a compact form of gear reduction. This is what power drills use. An average cheap electric motor has high speed and low torque, a planetary gearbox converts the excess speed into torque.

Started playing this game for myself and finished it in two days because of how addicted I got

20:00 Noo... That is the correct solution. The game disregards those conflicts, also putting them as close as possible, might be a benefit, becouse of time spent between gears. You want as little of it
  • @karyjas1
1:20 Are you supposed to have a flying vehicle? - No. Its one of those free form A to B races Is that possible - Yes, ive done it.
  • @Mettorm
If you ever want to shift your power curve from either high acceleration to high top speed or vice versa, try changing the wheel size. Big tires are better for high top speeds and small give better acceleration. This can be easier than changing the whole gear system.
  • You need to let ur new build stay with the 270 kmh speed limit ab get double the acceleration. You aren’t realistically reaching 500 kmh in a race and this will make your old build obsolete
  • @thekinge4734
For the gear shifting its easiest to use 2 separate axles both using the 3 different gears but spaced out a little bit to prevent collision.
  • @jorge8596
You made a decent transmission and then paired it with a stupid final drive that effectively makes it a single speed for 99% of the time, I mean how often did you expect to use 500km/h top speed vs a decent 274km/h top speed with twice the acceleration
  • For sure the iteration of the car where you had just about 220 as max speed but much higher acceleration is the best since you never got to 500km/h anyways but you were at most going 250
  • @ollierinko9387
99% of the time in the Secret Queen race, you were only using first gear. At points, you dipped into gear 2 before instantly going on the breaks. Less top speed, shorter gearing and more acceleration is the way to go.
  • One tip I learned is that the gearshift can have input into any of the holes (so including the 2 holes usually used to attach to frame) this allows you to have multiple toggleable inputs using gearshifts into gearshifts to have a more complex but still small gear box
  • You issue with the gearbox was using a big gear paired with a medium gear, the gears fit nicer if you use the either "big- small, med-med, small-big" or "small-medium, 90°-90°, medium-small"
  • @PasiFourmyle
They should add a mouse-over visual that helps the player see how fast things are spinning during building. That should help players that don't necessarily understand gear ratios and the effects of them.
  • 20:50 you could just make the three gearsettings: small to big, medium to medium, big to small. This way you can just have two axis with three gears each next to each other
  • Scrapman is really good at over complicating the 3 shift gear 😅
  • Man I love this series. Waay more than I thought I would after the demo video
