My dad was in the Coldstream Guards until war broke out and he got shipped out to Egypt/Palestine. He was the treasurer of the local coldstream guards association in Birmingham UK He was stationed in Windsor and Wellington Barack’s across the square from the palace. He always had access to the officers mess at Wellington Barack’s. when I was a child my mother made me a winter coat from his red tunic. The buttons and trip were always in the drawer on my moms singer. I have actually lived in canada for 55 years. My dad and mom visited us frequently

Impressive the number of mounted police- their position is crucial. Gorgeous horses.
  • I grew with books of Dickens and my first book at 6 year old was Richard the Lion king and Robin Hood.I loved the way Britain Traditions but also manners, education etc .I love people that follow their Tradition and behave.
  • 4:45 notice how that one guard slips for a second and regained balance and Carrie’s on is quite amazing

Hi LifeWithDan, yes, they do now. But, when my wife and I were in England about 20 years ago, the guards at Buckingham Palace did NOT have automatic weapons. Concealed handguns maybe, but not 9 mm submachine guns.
  • Have loved watching your videos. Now I know more of what I missed.😮

Nice to see the Ghurkas again. They normally parade at the double quick.
  • @chrisbonebrake
The uniforms and bands are spectacular. But the real treat was the last minute with the Gurka soldiers marching out with the red-coated Winkies. They Gurkhas were considered a fierce fighting regiment and first recruited by the British in 1895.
