Man, I remember going crazy in grade school arguing with other kids that blood was not blue. I realized it was hopeless when one of the homeroom teachers agreed with them. A generation was lost to madness...

Even if urine was somehow sterile, you still shouldn't drink it. It is about 3.3% sodium, which is almost as much as the sodium in the ocean. This means that drinking your urine wouldn't help with thirst. Instead, it would make you thirstier and die of dehydration.

I remember my mom telling me that the iron in your blood and the metal iron were 2 different elements... can't imagine how confusing the table of elements must have been to her.

Your voice tone and pace in this video made this much more easier to listen to in the evening and/or at night. Loved the length and tone! Which is great because it's one of my fav channels!

Thank you for including how you don't shock asystole! As a critical care nurse, I can't watch medical dramas because they are so unbelievable and defibrillating everything is one of the biggest offenses!

Fun fact: in Germany we have a word for the tiredness after a big dinner. It's "Suppenkoma" which translates to soup coma XD

"You may have heard that humans use only 10 percent of their brain...although this seems a little high for some people" 😂. This guy is hilarious sometimes.

The catching a cold myth is very prevalent amongst many east/south east Asian communities. I def grew up thinking I'd magically get sick from being cold.
  • I love this video! It's so great that so many misconceptions are finally being cleared up! Thank you!

i agree with most of this but the NOT eating right before swimming isn't just about cramping, but the same reason why you shouldnt eat right before any strenuous physical activities. You don't want to have a huge meal before a run, or swimming etc...risk of vomiting and aspiration is your biggest worry while you're in the water.
  • Yes, they are myths. No, they are not typically lies. Lying requires someone intentionally deceive you. This is just a list of people being wrong/mistaken.

My grandmother told me stories of my grandfather being such an alcoholic that he would sleepwalk down the stairs to the kitchen and make himself drinks then come back to bed, never waking up.

This is by far one of the most interesting shows from you I've seen. Thank You!

I can catch a cold from lack of sleep. Being exhausted weakens the immune system. It doesn't always happen. Maybe the season?

In the winter or cold weathers, particles also stay in the air longer so it means that if a infected or sick person coughs or sneezes you could potentially catch their virus or cold, due to the particles staying longer in the air.
  • I always find it absolutely INSANE that it's 2022 and yet we still have these potentially civilisation ending myths floating around. Some of these myths are so old! Technology gets better but looks like overall, humans have peaked
  • I'm not kidding when I say this, when I was in elementary school we were taught that human blood is blue before it reaches the heart and is oxygenated. Lol. That makes no sense. This wasn't too long ago, I'm old, but not ancient. Lol. 1992 or 93. But to think that's just one of the many things that we were taught that was completely wrong, and there is a ton, enough to write a book about, it absolutely blows my mind. So many things have changed just in the past 30 years. Even things they were teaching us in middle and high-school, a lot of it has been found out to be wrong, some ended up being backwards. It's mind-blowing, amazing, and also kinda frightening. Then again, in the state I live in, they no longer teach cursive writing. Which I find extremely sad and unfortunate. Gotta sign a contract or legal document, you have to sign and print your name. So guess this generation of kids are just supposed to figure it out on their own. When I had to write essays, cursive was mandatory. You would get a 0 if it was in print.
