Haxorus is amazing mostly for its second attack. While the first one can be stopped by mist energy, 230 helps a ton against decks like miraidon, chien pao, gouging fire, future box, the new dark box and even raging bolt or other regidrago decks to ohko basic ex and v pokémon, when otherwise you would have to discard 3 or 4 energy with a raging bolt attack. It just makes all of these matchups much easier without the need of noivern ex.

This is the first time I've heard Giratina pronounced as "Guy-ra-tina." After a quick google, I found out it's pronounced "Geer-uh-tina." Hope this helps!
