I can't believe the nobodies on here knocking these dudes as Navy SEAL wannabes. The SEALs helped implement their Assessment and Selection. It's based on Navy SEAL BUD/S with a law enforcement focus. Just like US Army Special Forces helped designed the BORTAC units' selection as a civilian law enforcement equivalent, and CAG helped design FBI HRT as their equivalent. These guys are legit, through and through. They work right alongside their military counterparts and have their full respect.

I was a CG boarding officer in the mid 80’s . These guys are getting a lot more training than we ever did. We also had to use our left hand while shooting on the left side of barricades. ( dropped my score). Any way, we former special forces from various groups with us as coasties and we were prepared to deal with whatever situation arose. Semper paratus

Interesting Fact: in 2009, five Coastguardsmen made it to BUDS, Class 276 and the five made it through the training. A total of twenty Guardsmen were initially selected to participate in this program. I believe three of the initial twenty successfully became SEALS. The joint program was designed to beef up the ranks of Special Operation Forces, and cross pollinate those skills between the two organizations. The program lasted between 2009-2011.
  • It’s just amazing to know that we have a Coast Guard with an Elite team. My respect for them. 👍
  • With Crye Precision being used by so many military branches and law enforcement agencies, all these operators look so alike now and to the bad guys they would have no idea with whom they are dealing with until they are apprehended, if captured alive.
