You must learn “the rules” before you can break them.

Law #49: don't tell others that you have read the 48 laws of power.

This is genius. A true thinker guides and liberates. Great phylosopher of our times

"Be formless, shapeless like Water. Be Water My Friend." - Bruce Lee

When I finished reading this book, I thought that these laws aren't instructions that we should assiduously follow; rather, something that would make us aware of their existence— behaviours often acted out by people of power— subsequently giving us an edge over life.
-
[Me, after memorizing the previous 47]: “…wtf.”

As a quote goes "You must know all the rules to know which rule to break when necessary."

I think the 48th law really means to use the laws on a micro level. Be able to adapt to life's chaoticness, but also be aware of what's going on around you.

God bless you Robert Greene, you're a beacon of wisdom in so many people's lives. Thank you for mastering your craft.

Stay fluid. Not rigid. Read the room. Yes!!!
-
Everyday is a new day, be formless, every breath you take is new, situations change, everything is constantly changing!
-
I love that. Know the rules fluently and then break them fluidly
-
I believe Arnold Schwarzenegger said in a commencement speech: Rule #3, break the rules! Basically saying to be successful know when the rules apply and when they don’t.
-
My mother once told me "we learn the rules so that we can break them in an intelligent way"
-
I liked that “ never outshine the master “

🌬"Learn the rules so you can break them like an artist ."
