Floyd never too the rematch cluase instead retired 1 year and 1 day.... the new era of boxing was born choosing and picking opponents who are right for you.

I saw it back in the day and Oscar was definitely the aggressive moving forward I know he won but for some reason they gave it to Floyd who was scared to fight Pacquiao in his prime
  • Punching stats from Mayweather vs. De La Hoya Total punches thrown/landed Power punches thrown/landed De La Hoya 587-122 (21%) 341-82 (24%) Mayweather 481-207 (43%) 241-138 (57%)

The Trinidad fight is one of the worst robbery’s I guess it happeneds to them all ha

Now while Oscar had some bad beats on terrible decisions (most notable vs Trinidad, and vs Mosley - 2) this one was not. I had Oscar up after 8 rounds 5-3, but he gassed out, and was tired letting Floyd turn it up and win the Final 4 Rounds and the fight 7-5. If Oscar wins one of those last 4 rounds its a legit draw, but Floyd's long term condition was better than most and definitely better than De LA Hoyas this fight. But a very good fight none the less Just my humble

Mayweather sr said post fight, if you go by single punches Mayweather Jr won. If you go by comnination punches Oscar won

DLH made Floyd looo like a fool especially with those body punches and that jab 😂
  • @onprx1
Im not a fan of either of these fighters but I remember feeling that De la Hoya was robbed!
  • Very nice interview, Oscar seams honest and brilliant. Nice work from Patrick.

I’m Filipino-American but I grew up a huge De La Hoya fan. And it was so sad watching him get absolutely dismantled by Pacquiao, even though I was also a Pacquiao fan. I personally think Mayweather is the most overrated champ. I think he lost against Oscar & Jose Castillo. And he almost lost to Zab Judah

I saw this fight live and I will say until the day I die, De La Hoya won this fight. Anyone disagrees with me can just kiss my ass. And not the left cheek and not the right cheek, but right down the middle.

Make the fight so clearly obvious that you can't question the judges
  • I was watching this PPV with a bunch of friends, and every single one of us gave it to Oscar by a nose. I've always wanted to tell Delahoya that, and assure him that he did actually win.
  • @delmarfo
Oscar said he was an old 33 year old boxer. Floyd was 30 when they fought. Knock it off!

Big floyd fan and don't really like de la Hoya but Oscar won. He did enough.
  • @countdrago1544
I had Floyd by 2 points in a competive fight where Floyd took more punishement but won 7 rounds. Both prime Oscar and prime Shane beat Mayweather

First fight I ever bought with my own money I was 18... Oscar absolutely won this fight
