Eloise's Story In Bridgerton 3 Is Going To Be More Sad Thank You Think

We couldn’t help falling in love with the smart, strong-willed Eloise Bridgerton, brilliantly portrayed by Claudia Jessie, so it comes as no surprise that we want her to be happy. But season three will definitely test our emotions when it comes to Eloise. Just how sad will her story be in the upcoming season? Will Eloise lose her best friend for good? Which character’s death will directly impact Eloise?

In addition to all the drama we have come to expect from Bridgerton, will Eloise’s story be even sadder than we expect?

I'm surprised that Kate is not mentioned as a potential new friend. They had such a great moment together in season two. And Kate would be a great strong role model for her to help her mature into her full potential

I would actually prefer that Eloise and Pen make up and reclaim their friendship, perhaps with the break making them each better friends for the issues that broke it up in the first place. Eloise learning to listen and consider Penelope more and Penelope learning to confide in Eloise more, etc. I don't like the implication that somehow women can't have friends once they're married, that's ridiculous - even though marriage does break up some friendships, it's true - however, if both parties in the friendship continue to make the effort to keep in touch, it doesn't have to be that way. Still, I'll be watching, regardless.

I don't see Eloise deciding for herself to search for love. That's why I like her relationship with Theo. She's so strong-minded, so intelligent and strong-willed... Love would find her.

The thing is, Eloise and Penelope's friendship was never great or perfect. Eloise was always so set on her own frustration with the role she was being forced into that she never had time to consider what Penelope wanted, often just assuming Pen felt the same way she did and speaking contemptuously and dismissively about things Pen actually wanted desperately. Pen had to remind her, more than once, that her desires aren't Penelope's. And she was constantly interrupting and frustrating Pen's attempts to actually pursue those goals, not intentionally but through thoughtlessness. And I honestly think Pen was right when she said Eloise was in part angry that Pen actually did something when all Eloise does is talk. So I'm okay with Eloise staying away from Pen until she learns to be less self-absorbed and treat Pen like a friend, not a prop for her own ego.
  • There is a pattern to the Bridgerton romances, both in the books and on screen. The characters end up embracing a life that they never expected for themselves. For example, Simon never intended to have children. Anthony never expected to fall in love with his chosen wife. Colin never expected to fall in love with Penelope. So I definitely think it would be possible for Eloise to fall in love with Phillip while still remaining the strong, independent woman she is. As for her friendship with Pen, I wonder if they will reconcile after the death of Marina. It would also open up a chance for Eloise to meet Phillip if there is a funeral or something.
  • Eloise in the TV adaptation didn't have an issue with raising children. Her character trajectory was feeling trapped in a society where she had little to no choices. She didn't want to birth children because of the trauma she witnessed from her mother. How does having stepchildren contradict her character?

Julia quin said that she sees Theo as a tool to make Eloise realise the privilege that she is getting being a rich bridgerton. And even though the things she is complaining about is very real, it's very small compared to what others experience and go through on a regular basis.

How can they lose each other when Penelope is literally marrying into the family? Everything will be fine guys. God bless everyone!

There will be some changes but the show has stayed true to the names of the characters and I am happy with that. Phillip Crane may seem boring now but we really don't know what will happen so I hope they leave it as the two characters.
  • I'm team Eloise and Theo! They have the same interests, fighting for women's rights. It will make a interesting and different story line and at the same time keep Eloise true to who she really is. Eloise with Sir Philip would be more of the same.

I know that we don't have Marina's full story in the books - just what was filtered through other characters, I know that some people read too much into things (I personally enjoy stories were I can pick apart the hints and figure out the ending or secrets), and I know that people truly enjoy To Sir Phillip with Love. I personally think that the saddest story would be Eloise ending up with Phillip without significant rewrites.
  • I actually think Eloise will not end up with Phillip. Idk if you guys paid attention but when Colin went to see Marina he made a good connection with Sir Philip. Telling her that he seems very “friendly” and he ask her if everything was fine between them. Marina got mad and said yes that everything was perfect. For me Colon noticed that Philip was more into him tan her wife. That’s my perspective
  • While everyone else is either team Phillip crane or team Theo sharpe I’m team footman John 😂😂

I don't believe Eloise and Penelope won't be able to reconcile. Their friendship is a very big part of the books, I really don't believe they will change that. I also don't think they will change much of the "outcomes" of the books, like characters ending up with completely different people than they do in the books. The people might be different from their book versions, but apart from that... No. The most likely part for the "unlikely friend" Eloise gets in the next season it's Philipp... As this is exactly what happened in the book too. They had a long pen friendship before anything happened. I just think some people are reading way to much into stuff sometimes.

I don't really think we know Philip well enough from the seasons so far.. except that he was willing to come forward for Marina.. to know whether he would be a good fit for Eloise..

I think they won’t go as far as to change the end couples but they will change how they will happen. I don’t believe they would introduce Philip as early as season 1 to do nothing with it. I believe they will develop a friendship with Marina and Eloise since they are neighbours. Theo will most likely get the same treatment as the singer in season 1 for Antony. It felt for me more as a first love to get the idea running in Eloise’s mind about mariage.
  • Season should concentrate more on Benedict than Eloise. They really need to introduce Sophie and have the masquerade ball in season 3.
  • I think it's hard to separate book Eloise from show Eloise because book Eloise isn't so feminist. We do want better for her than Phillip Crane because of the show portrayal. We do know that as Penelope and Colin fall in love and marry, the girls relationship must be worked out and they will be friends again. But not before more drama. Theo is coming back in season 3 so I think there will be a deepening friendship between the two but they will not marry. They may have a little love affair but that is all. It is in the contract with Julia that the couples must end up with who they do in the books. But as we know, there are liberties taken with lots of little things. Those who like the books will probably be dissatisfied with some of the plots going Awry. Eloise's season will not come for a couple of seasons. It may come after Polin. Who knows? I think she and Phillip will know each other better in the show. Otherwise, how would she find that writing to him would be socially ok?
