At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer. At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare. At age 28, Wayne Coyne (from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn’t get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didn’t release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his first movie role until he was 46. Morgan Freeman landed his first MAJOR movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it. Never tell yourself you missed your chance. Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough. You can do it. Whatever it is.

Hey Henry, you know, fuck people. Fuck what they think about you. You don't need to please people. You don't need a car, because you think that other people want you to have one. I don't have one, too. I'm fucking 24 and still live with my parents. Do I bother? Hell no. Women stopped talking to you, because you don't have a car? Fuck that bitches. You don't need a job because society tells you, that you need a job. You're not comfortable talking to people for a longer period of time? Then fucking don't. Come on, Henry. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IN LIVE IS BEING HAPPY. First off you need to focus on feeling better about yourself. Don't focus so much on other people. I know, it's easy to say, but as somebody that suffers/suffered from social anxiety myself, I can tell you the one and only thing that has helped me: Focusing on your own well-being and stop what people MIGHT think. Eat chocolate. Go to the animal shelter, find the ugliest cat/dog, that's there the longest, adopt it and love it. Get a plant and love it. Eat fries and burgers. Eat salad, whatever. Take a bath. Create fake online profiles and get used to talking to people as "somebody else", maybe it's easier. You're bored? Then see if you can find someting you're good at and that makes you feel better. You're funny. Maybe you can write some (short) stories. If you're good enough send some to magazines. See what happens. Start painting. Put your emotions in pictures. Do sports. Go running. Lift fucking water bottles, I don't care. Watch motivational videos on youtube all day. Cry your eyes out. Write shitty poetry. Write good one. There are so many people that can relate to you. Start photografing. Take walks in the woods. Picnic. Smile at old ladys. Give homeless people money. Start working for charity. Start studying from home. Become a cameraman. Go to Hollywood. Write scripts. Do nothing. Watch TV. Read books. Stare at the goddamn wall, do whatever you want to. Dude, just be happy. There is nothing you HAVE to do, but so much you can do... if you want to. I wish you well, my friend.

  • You may be in a slump right now but you communicate your thoughts well. I am a mute for the most part and when I do speak its inappropriate.

Schizophrenia, that's pretty surprising. I was not expecting that. I knew about the agoraphobia though. I've seen your videos. I think it's one of the first vids I saw from you.
  • @SnakeDoctor303
just curious, why wont your family help you? yea sometimes man staffing/temp agencies are the only way to go. most of the time its factory or warehouse work and you really wont have to talk to anyone while you work.
  • I didn't know you had Schizo, that's serious... I'm sorry for my previous comments. Take care of yourself man. Don't go outside the cycle. The Great Outer Dark is a horrible place.
