When you're invited to bring a few speakers, and your synth rig, to one of the most stunning live music spots in Tasmania, you're clearly going to say yes!

I was attempting to play ‘something big sounding’ as a start to this gig. Didn’t quite work out the way I had planned - the additional workload of being sound tech at the same time never helps lol!

Anyhow, the main purpose of my YouTube channel has always been to help me practice for live sets; and so here is the first actual live set I’ve ever loaded up to YouTube :)

That’s the joy of live sets really, you can’t kill the camera when you mess up, you’ve just got to deal with the cards you’re played and hope for the best!

If you can’t be bothered listening to me doing an on the fly soundcheck, feel free to skip the first 10 mins :)

I must confess I wasn’t on top form at the start of this gig (a few speaker problems left me battling the rig through the night), and it was also freezing cold. As is the way with Tasmanian summers, we had the full 4 seasons in one day, and so it quickly got pretty hot!

You seem to be surrounded by such beautiful people, it brought me such joy seeing all the hugs and love you got while performing

You know what I love about this? Typically when you see people playing analog synth rigs, it's in some dark, dank warehhouse. But to see Rob just jamming, in a field, enjoying the fuck out of himself, nobody else around, it's so refreshing. Great set mate!
  • This performance is a testament to the beauty of modular synthesis. It beautifully demonstrates that a well-composed masterpiece doesn't require the glitz and glamour of a packed stadium or the intense energy of a super-hyped audience to be appreciated. The skill and artistry on display here are truly remarkable, offering an incredible auditory experience in the most unassuming of settings. That said, you should be on the big stage as this performance would put any stadium on fire. Thanks for sharing.
  • Can I just say mad respect for bringing your ENTIRE rig outside lmfao, like no one does this sort of thing! Respect!!!

Best dispatcher ever. Broken leg in a car accident & trapped inside ? Let this mans synth sooth you ahead of the medics.

Nothing beats a great musician on a modular that knows how to arrange a performance like this… clearly it’s done by “feel” and it sounded great!

This video popped in my suggestions. All the mess of wires in the preview got me intrigued. The sounds did not disappoint! I don't always subscribe to channels, but when I do, it's to amazing creatives like this!

Wow, that is truly amazing. Passion, skills, vibe, creativity, everything to the point. What a contrast to all the overproduced stuff. You can tell that you live the music for real. I am very happy to have found the channel and will stay. Greetings from Germany
