i am cackling at the fantasy Kelsey is living in that most people who saw this movie liked it hahahaha
  • Many people say “theatre shows never work well on screen” WRONG! The problem is they keep hiring directos who know nothing about musical theatre. Lin Manuel Miranda breathes theatre and knows what makes theater unique and knew exactly how to translate that on screen with tick tick boom. Same with the director of mamma Mia and hairspray. But the director of dear Evan Hansen had no clue of musical theatre and it’s so obvious. Holywood stop hiring directos for musicals that know nothing about the magic of theatre.
  • I agree with Zach! The musical wants us to root for Evan so bad. But we can’t because what he is doing it’s awful. It would be best if the musical didn’t try so hard for us to root for Evan.

kelsey is FULLY in denial lmaoooo, i agree with miles throughout this entire podcast
  • @lindseyp6032
miles and zach not letting a single opportunity slide to slam this movie was incredible. miles absolutely needs to be here more
  • @kdragon4046
I laughed out loud every time Miles calmly responded, "I disagree."
  • @kyonkyon4666
Kelsey is fighting for her life in this episode
  • @megshep
I need Miles to pop in more frequently on Guilty Pleasures for sure. This was an AWESOME episode!! (But I missed you Garrick!!)
  • @Charlottec968
the whole movie was just a vanity project for ben platt, the only reason it was made was to get an Oscar for ben, they were so focused on the Oscar that they forgot to actually make a good movie
  • @anniejones618
I will never trust Kelsey’s recommendations on media ever again if she thinks this was a pleasure.
  • @hoolianalopez
Miles telling Kelsey she's the single most edited person on the show ahahahahahah
  • "That Jordan Fisher plays Evan Hansen" YES MILES LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK.
  • I think it's kinda funny that Ben Platt said he is the only one who could play Dear Evan Hansen when he was dating another guy who played DEH.
  • @421541Michee
Thanks to Evan the sister now believes that her abusive brother may have had romantic thoughts about her. The grown man lurking in the halls of a high-school is a menace!
  • @christinar.7955
Kelsey really said DEH was the best musical to movie adaptation ever as if Hairspray doesn't exist
  • "WHO'S JORDAN FISHER"?!?!?!? Kelsey how don't you know who Jordan Fisher is I actually can't compute that one
  • I'd pay money to see Kelsey watch Jenny Nicholson's video on Dear Evan Hansen and not being allowed to say anything, just a face journey. I think she'd crack in the first minute.
  • @cruztastrophe
Kelsey needs to check her LA privilege on this one. If you go to a premiere showing with the guy who made the movie and a bunch of the actors from the movie, your perspective is going to be heavily colored. She walked out of there with the rosy-est of glasses on and never took them off. I'm sure that entire room pretended the movie was amazing when the director and Amy Adams were RIGHT THERE.
  • @rykeman916
I recommend Jenny Nicholson's video on Dear Evan Hansen, because she's very thorough in her critique, but she keeps it very entertaining
