Unown is actually an amazing Pokemon for a solo run, at least in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Don't believe me, just watch the video!

As a child I was obsessed with the unknown ruins. Always thought I was missing something big. But turns out that it wasn't completed as fully as they initially planned.

Unown should have had Ancient Power to pair with Hidden Power. i don't think it would be overpowered with it

The Gen 2 videos are always the most surprising ones to me. Sometimes they're expectedly difficult like the Pichu video, but other times Pokemon I would expect to really struggle or be impossible end up being weirdly good like Togepi and Unown.

Unknown so good it had to be removed from the entire game later on. Clearly it's stronger than arcues Mewtwo and fans love of Charizard combined

Fun fact: It can also learn Hidden Power via TM. Except it can’t, since it will always know Hidden Power only already. So the TM will never work on it.

They should have brought Unown to SV and made hidden power only learned by Unown, and does 70 power and is affected by your tera type if you haven't terastalized.

Fun fact due to gen 2 programming being gen 1 programming with a few more bandage on top of it struggle is effected by pink bow

I spent uncounted hours in the ruins as a kid trying to figure out if there was some hidden secret to these guys. I caught every letter and even tried to use a team of four unown that spelled DOOM to see if it would trigger some instant win, since the Pokédex entry in silver referred to something similar.

Last year we got the month of Jrose, this year we get some of the more difficult solo runs ever conceived. We are truly blessed.

I wish you could fuse unown of different letters together. If you had a full collection it could become on-par with a legendary pokemon.
