Biggest problem with the IOW is that for the same price as a high-season return car ferry ticket for the 4-mile voyage you could buy a one week all-inclusive overseas holiday somewhere warm.

Also I loved Ryde, lived there for my first year on the island! There was a Caf on Union Street where you could have English breakfast for 50p.
