Cherry Audio does a great job of producing a 2nd chance for us folks that could not afford the real thing when we were 15. Their prices make it possible for everyone explore their dream machine.

Having played it a LOT in the early eighties I really feel that the sound is properly captured. I bought the plugin a few months ago and it almost brought tears of joy to my eyes.
  • As someone who isn't a huge fan of softsynths, this is exceptional. The sound is gorgeous. These days soon as I open my DAW, I load it up. The FX unit is also great.
  • @adijames
What a wonderful, thoughtful and musical review of an equally wonderful synth.
  • @MuzixMaker
As always, a brilliant presentation. Cheers!

These soft synths benefit greatly from a touch screen display. I use a 24" Dell touch screen monitor with Arturia's V collection 9. Being able to control the sliders and pots with fingers instead of a mouse gives a more realistic experience. You need a good quality touch display though. Cherry audio really know how to do soft synths. Great review again Tim.

Great video Tim, love the simplicity too less time consuming.
  • Nice review! The Roland Jp4 was a big part of what made Roland famous with the new-wave / pop-rock, sound of the era. Many are familiar with how Nick Rhodes (of Duran Duran), used it on their debut album, and follow-up hit album ‘Rio’. I can’t deny that it was also the primary reason why my first polysynth, was a Roland synth (Juno 60). Cherry Audio did manage to capture the overall Roland tone, and what made the Jp4 different from their other synths of the era.

Great review Tim. I completely agree about simplicity
  • @pedromanafaia
Thank you Tim, I just got myself one because of your video, it sounds fantastic!!!

I bought Mercury-4 and its got a lot of Mojo IMHO. Thats one thing I love about Cherry Audio's products. They have character. Tim I really enjoy simplicity as well these days. Its very refreshing.
  • @MrCraigSayer
Just got Mercury 4 last night! It’s stunning!
  • @JDSoundsets
Nice demo/video Tim I was playing with Mercury earlier in just Arp mode (Too warm to faff more ha) the amount of Timbres/Sounds you can get from this is most suprising. Well done

Thanks for the review. Really well put together. I am a Cherry Audio fanatic, and likely biased. I love the Mercury 4, but their PS-20 is also beautifully robust in its sound. And Voltage is an absolute corker. All CA's synths have classic character and quirks that give them a place in my heart. In addition to the Mercury 4 special, check out the Synth Stack 2 pack... almost all CA products for single sweet price.

Hi, Tim. I happily give them my money regularly. Cherry does the best job of modeling these beasts, IMHO. Great video! I always appreciate your take. Cheers!

Got Cherry Audio's GX-80 and Sines. VERY impressed with their products so far!
  • I have had it since it came out and I think it is amazing for the money. I have already used it on a variety of recordings and a few releases
  • @Marko-nx9eq
Great sound. Really impressed. Tape echo is my default plug on synth so it's very nice touch.
