Gray loves his family's home because of the large lot and abundance of privacy, but April is ready to move closer to town and into a home that functions for their family of four. April dislikes their dated fixtures and finishes, as well as the master bedroom and cut-off kitchen. Despite their desire to have a perfect space, neither can decide on design choices, and April doesn't see the merit in spending the time to renovate when there are too many projects to tackle.

When a house no longer feels like home, homeowners are left with a big financial and emotional question: renovate or sell it? Love It or List It helps fed-up homeowners decide. In each hour-long episode Realtor David Visentin and designer Hilary Farr compete for the homeowners' final decision to stay or go. David's insider perspective on the real estate market helps target listings to prospective buyers, but Hilary is determined to show homeowners that, within their budget, she can transform their worn-out house into a castle they can love. If the owners decide to list it, Hilary's hard work adds to the home's resale value. It's a tough decision either way. Which choice would you make?

That's a man who knows how to get what he wants. New counters and they stayed! It is beautiful.

When it was revealed that he gave her new countertops for their anniversary, it was no longer a mystery whether they were going to stay or go. I didn’t like the List It house, though. Something just felt “off.” Maybe it was the fact that the garage didn’t face the road?

I want Hillary to come update my house too. Love her work soo much. Wish we had her near us. I'd hire her in a heartbeat.
  • @PekebunMager
The wife sure complaints a lot for that small budget given

I raised 2 young daughters in a split level with an enclose kitchen and we managed just fine. This open concept is nice but it come really quickly become a big junkyard

Wow, April and Gray, your house looks incredible after all the changes! Your kitchen, especially, is fantastic. I hope your family enjoys your newly renovated home!

People complain for the smallest thing....the kitchen is just fine but old......u r allowed to want renovation without acting like the house is embarrassing! If not for more space or the area I don't see why we should move! Update what is old isn't that hard if u do that accordingly to ur budget.

That new house is so cheap, that would cost a million where I live!
  • With the staged decor brought in makes everything look marvelous, when its taken back you sit with your old crappy furniture 🙈

Need to also give credit to the contractors. Just love yall
  • I do miss these type of episodes that were with realistic budgets and real messes and real needs and wants. I hate the people on the show now when I would be so happy to have the houses they complain about

Why was the wife being so extra in the kitchen 😂
  • @triley1709
In such a small house, don’t they realize when their children get older there would be less room?🤦‍♀️ you have to think about the future.

'Just walls and flooring'? Insulation, drywall, mud-tape-and-sand, paint, trim, sub floor, underlay, electrical, possible HVAC upgrade... Around here that would be a bargain at $20,000.00 if you skimped. Hilary is always great, but, I wouldn't choose to have a work space at my front entry. Typically a messy spot, it's not what I would want on display as people come through the door. And she was right, it was a shame to minimize that beautiful existing bathroom window! What happened to eliminating the kitchen bulkhead?
