Well... 30.000 star destroyers Trillions of soldiers Millions of starfighters At least 3 planet-destroying super weapons The fourth most powerfull sith of all time Hundreds of super star destroyers(including the Eclipse) The Sunkiller I mean...everyone should fear the Empire. The rebels had a LOT of plot armor during the Civil War.
  • How Boba Fett led the Mandalorians to victory against the Yuuzhan Vong

Fun Fact: During the first battle of Coruscant (when the Vong took the planet) the Vong used captured ships full of civilians as orbital bombardment weapons against Coruscant’s planetary shield systems & the New Republic Chief of State, Borsk Fey’lya, a Bothan, detonated a huge bomb when the Vong took his office over Killed about 10,000 Vong troops Dude was a DickDouche politician, but he went out like a Badass Hero.
  • Palpatine knew they were coming and literally built the empire to deal with them. That's why the empires fleet was so undermanned they were pumping out ships faster than they could crew em.

It would be amazing to see Thrawn lead the fight against the Yuuzhan Vong. The Vong wouldn't stand a snowballs chance in hell against Thrawn.

Imperial Super Weapons were vulnerable to the Rebels, NR since they were aware of their technical faults, the Vong were more unaware of their faults and more consumed with their pride as a superior warrior race, they probably would have wanted to challenge the Empire's might, which whould have played into the Empire's hand by allowing them to use their combined firepower against the Vong from the getgo.
  • I liked the Theory of Palpatines whole reason to create the Empire was to be prepeard for the Vong Invasion. Gives you a whole new look on the Empire and the Rebellion. To Quote Thrawn: "They will be the architechts of their own destruction".
  • So the Rebels unknowingly caused even more death and destruction by toppling the Empire.
  • I think one of the saddest moments in the Yuuzhan Vong war series is in the book Star By Star when Leia feels Anakin Solo die through the force and screams out in anguish and Han immediately starts blasting things in the room out of anger while screaming "They killed him! They killed my boy!" to Lando. Edit: That's probably one of the most heartwrenching moments in the entire EU. Besides Disney killing the EU.

2:56 shows my favorite thing in all of legends. The mighty Yuuzhan vong, the intergalatic invaders who sweept aside all in their path, encountered the Imperial remnant... And got absolutely stomped. Even as a broken, tiny shadow of what it was, the Empire gave the Vong so much trouble invading their territory that the Vong simply had to go around.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise?
  • I find it quite curious that the Vong really respected the Empires power (and i don't really blame them tbh because the Empire at it's height was such a force to be reckoned with) , and it was wise to wait until it had fractured imo. I really hope you do dive really deep into why the Imperials would win against the Vong had they arrived during the Imperial Era, though. That would be super awesome! :) (P.S. My question is: What is your favorite Lightsaber from the old EU? Mine would be Darth Vindicans! :) )

I remember someone, maybe Han, saying something along the lines of "The empire would have just built some big super weapon and called it the 'Emperor's fist or something". Which, yeah, the Death Stars would have made short work of the Yuuzhan Vong world ships and the vong would have had to work harder to get the plans than the rebels even did.
  • @jnew42
The Empire could bring a massive fleet extremely quickly, though ground battles would be a much closer thing. Though I feel like Vader would have been problematic for the Vong.
  • @t.s.7915
Did legends ever explicitly say the Yuuzhan Vong threat was part of the motivation for Papa Palpatine building super weapons like the Death Star? We're kidding ourselves if we think that's the only reason, but it opens an entertaining if flawed line of argument that the Empire wasn't so bad.
  • @Armoless
As soon as the Vong heard about a metal moon they would flip their staffs and go all in on destroying the deathstar since it was the antithesis to their living homeworld. Now if they could have beaten it is different.
