I'm sure you've heard by now, a DeSoto ain't a Dodge. It's a DeSoto. A division of Chrysler that shut down in 62.

So fun to hear the old girl cough and sputter to life after so long. You’ve got mad skills bringing these old metal souls back. Great sense of humor too! Desoto was a separate division of Chrysler. Like Dodge and Plymouth. Same engines same trans. I think it Was a positive ground six volt system. Most Chrysler products were at the time.
