When it's more trucks than cars. I had the privilege of driving from El Paso Texas to Dallas Texas but it was at night time and dark and no one else on the road. But I remember the speed limit being 80 most of the 650 miles and not much in between.

I grew up in El Paso and attended Texas A&M FROM 1976 to 1981. I have driven this freeway COUNTLESS TIMES, the last time in 2016. So some points for the uniniated: In 1976 I10 was not finished. The only part left was the part between Ft Stockon and Sonara. The traffic was handle by US 290 which was a two lane road till just east of Sheffield were US 290 picked up I10. In 1976 the highway speed was 55 (the gas crisis) so the trip to College Station was 12 to 13 hours. Even today you have to keep a weather eye on your fuel especially between Sonara and Ft Stockton because their is nothing but miles and miles of miles and miles. During monsoon season it can be 110 and you get a thunderstorm and the temperature will drop 30 degrees and be in the low 70's. It's both refreshing and dangerous if not handled correctly. Most of the freeway scenes in El Paso did not exist until the mid 90's or so. The only major interchange we had was US 54 and I10. During winter it will snow. Not a lot but it can get annoying.

I love the way you keep yourself in the right lane except when passing. All the Americans should be like this! The European way of driving. Love it!

Despite the shorter distance, I-10 seems to be by far the more desolate interstate. With I-20, there's some desolation at the start, but you do eventually pass near or through multiple decent sized cities along with pretty frequent towns. I-10 has a total of four real towns along its route in a 6-hour drive.
  • If you are coming from Arizona, most likely eastern part perhaps Wilcox or Benson, and you make it to Van Horn, Tx, then (except for standard time) in less than 300 miles you cross TWO time zones (mountan time/central time changes around a bend just a few miles west of Van Horn at Hudspeth County line.

If you ever saw The Shawshank redemption you pass the exit FT Hancock that’s where red crosses the boarder to see Andy in Mexico

One of the most long but memorable drives I’ve ever done. The desolation after El Paso for hours was crazy. It was weird too how I-20 just popped out in the middle of nowhere and how the next major city of San Antonio was 8 hours away. Gotta love that insane Texas weather! Looking forward to your drives through Texas

After leaving El Paso, we're really seeing with makes the roads of Texas so grand. This is my favorite video of the season thus far (& there was some great videos this season too)! Love the soundtrack too! I wasn't surprised you later returned to the Lone Star Star to film this. Texas' roads are so vast, one can't do a overview of them in one setting! Can't wait to see what else you have for us from the state!

This is my home now for 35 years, I love it out here! Never more then a few inches of rain in a year and sunny all the time,if you can take our spring winds you’ll just love it too… I was born and raised in La. I was so happy to get out of that humidity!! We still visit home but grateful to get back to our desert. My family really enjoys riding 4 wheelers and motorcycles and it’s comfortable almost all year.. El Paso is very affordable city to live in,own homes and good jobs.. what I loved most about this city was the people, they work hard and want to feed everyone,it’s always a festa!!!

My boys and myself where through here just two weeks before your video was shot coming from Phoenix back to Lubbock, TX. Of course we drove through here at night so its wonderful to see what we missed! Thank you. And the music was on point! I grew up listening to JP!

I drove this same path (westbound) in 2001. It' was beautiful then, as it is now. It looks like the summer Monson season was very generous to the region last year. Thanks for sharing!1
  • Awesome video! I-10 through Texas is my favorite stretch of interstate! Thank you for all the hard work that goes into these videos!
  • @Mahoot
Just did this drive like 2 weeks ago! I also did it westbound last December, it’s such an underrated drive, competes with some of the more hyped desert freeways further out west in my opinion. Also this video is awesome, the soundtrack goes perfectly with the scenery, great job!

When I first saw the 80 MPH sign , I took a picture and sent it to my country , saying , Look! Here the cars can fly on ground 😂 Very cool.
  • @ggjohn303
UPS truck at 20:00 out of Alpine TX, (80 miles away). Drivers there have long routes with far distances between stops.
  • Great videos Kyle!! Interstate10 is one long interstate. I've driven across most of it. It has so many unique features from valleys to hills. Interstate 20 at 636 miles no short distance by any means. El Paso at night on I-10 with all the lights from Juarez is amazing. Look forward to the rest of the videos!!
  • Nice Video Kyle! I wish you could do more I-84 Oregon videos when you can because they are awesome! Also thanks for the long 170+ Miles on i10 in Texas!
