The thunder, vibration under your feet, the smell, the spray and seeing the excitement on people’s faces, all makes it worth it thousands of miles. You need to visit when the river is at its highest level.
  • I teared up again...what a brilliant experience. I didn't know Victoria Falls is so much bigger than Niagara Falls... You guys simply rock my world every Sunday morning. On Sunday mornings I don't do anything anymore, i grab my phone and i check for an update from Tread the Globe. Chris and Marianne, thank you for letting us join you on your epic journey.

That ginormous grapefruit is officially called a pomelo.
  • What makes your travel adventures so special is not just the places you go, or the animals you see, but your interactions with the peoples of these lands. Your gracious respect and open hearts is a pure joy. TY both for sharing your epic journey with us your viewers. Much respect and appreciation to you both. ✌️

In Southern African if you heat up a water tank with fire to get hot water the System is called a donkey.

Zimbabwe - the breadbasket of Africa, where the people got what they asked for in 1980, and tragically, 40+ years of increasing desperation. The difference between talking about real equality and democracy, and getting liberation politics. Beautiful place, and the general populace is wonderful.

My mother taught English in Zimbabwe for years and was proud of how hard the students worked.

Victoria Falls! Just WOW! What a excellent ending to a wonderful adventure, it almost gives you a sense of closure.
  • Brown, yellow and dusty because it is winter. The bushveld is stunning when it rains.

In afrikaans we call those rock rabbits Dassies.
  • The seeds from Baobab tree are not fleshy they are dry. They are very sour, I loved them. That is what cream of tartar in baking is made from

Wow! Thank you so much for a wonderful episode. I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and have never visited the Falls. Your video was beautiful and I never knew how big Vic Falls is. It was very moving to see the country once more. I miss the people they are so warm and jolly. The autumnal trees Marianne commented on are called msasa trees. The baobab fruit is dry. you are meant to suck them. They have a nice sourish taste.

The Hwangi game park was formerly known as Wankie game park. I lived there since birth at Wakkie hospital. We had elephants walking through our garden. That was 70 years ago.

Baobab tree - the Khoi people (Bushman) the first inhabitants of southern Africa believed that the Gods were angry and planted this tree upside down. So it roots stick in the sky.
  • The little animal is a Rock Hyrax or locally known as a Dassie. Believe it or not. based on bone structure the closest relation is an Elephant.
