Stockton was a pure fundemental player! 99% of the times , he made the right decisions! He is the definition of a true point guard .

Stockton is so damn humble. All time leader in 2 categories (steals and assists). Absolute mechanic. Shame he never got a ring, he damn sure deserved one.
  • Stockton was quiet and unassuming and tougher than nails. Also had skills beyond belief. One of the best guards to ever lace them up.

i love how John had to remind him that Wilt Chamberlin was the monster that forced the game to change.
  • Stockton doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He wasn’t flashy, he wasn’t a flair player. But anybody who is assist leader and steal leader of all time has my respect. Also he doesn’t miss many games so should be acknowledge as tough person. No load management rubbish

Hey Folks. John Stockton hit the nail on the head. Wilt Chamberlain had several rule changes because of his dominance. Averaging 50 points a game for an entire season will never be duplicated either.

1:30 "Did anyone ever talk trash to you?" Hearing Payton talk about how much he hated that Stockton wouldn't talk back to him makes this all the funnier.

Invisible greatness.. deserving of his spot in the Dream Team..

As a Bulls fan, I watched J Stockton and C Malone compete in the early 80s - 90s, JS was a sniper - silent quiet killer. He just got on with the job!!! Much Respect!!!!
  • Cool that he did this interview and tried to give the juicy details that they were looking for 😁 Such a fucking legend. It's interesting to hear that it didn't even register when other players were talking trash to him. That's some crazy focus.. probably why he's one of the greatest pg of all time ♥️
  • A number of players have said they would rather guard Jordan than Bird. Have heard Jordan could make you look slow, Bird made you look stupid.

I guarantee you John remembers exactly what was said between him and Jordan in that heated exchange. He just doesn't go around running his mouth, what happened between the lines stays between the lines in his eyes.
  • Stockton mentions Elgin Baylor as everyone should be appreciating Baylors greatness
  • @IAm-qf2xb
What a solid man, now I appreciate him even more :))

I would put Pete Maravich in there because he was the greatest dribbler of all time. To this day he still holds the college scoring record. I think the greatest forward of all time may have been Elgin Baylor. I saw him when I was in the Army with him at FT. Sill. Oklahoma in 1959!

So underrated. Just listen to Gary Payton talk about Johnny Stock.
  • @large42
He had enough sense to say "Wilt, what about Wilt!? Because it all begins with Wilt, he is the King on the throne and all of the rest get what he leaves for them.
