Wouldn’t 1 in a 1000 be quite favorable, considering how many galaxies and planets there are

In the late 1990s evolutionary biologist Ernst Mayr debated exobiologist Carl Sagan, who thought Intelligent life was ubiquitous in space. Mayr countered by claiming, "intelligence" may very well be a "lethal mutation" in the evolution of biological organisms. The only "intelligent" life we know anything about are humans. Modern humans have existed only few 100 thousand years, compared to millions of other species that have existed for millions of years. We needn't talk about all the ways "intelligent" modern humans are destroying themselves and life on earth. ... In case you're interested, the renouned Theodor Postol at MIT has recently described the current (summer 2024) threat to a terminal nuclear war is greater now than during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

We are more likely to find remnants of other civilizations than thriving, ongoing civilizations😢 If our earth has millions of species and humans are the only technologically advanced species on our own earth than shouldn't we extend that to the Fermi formula? 8 mil to 1

From my perspective, we are the aliens that disrupted the natural course of life here on earth.. we are the aftermath of the asteroid that crashed and ended the reign of the lovely reptiles kids even adults adore these days, so ayun. T-rex for president.
