We started a podcast! Listen to a follow-up conversation with one of the Flat Earthers in this first episode: 👉anchor.fm/radicalempathy 👈 - leave us a voice message after listening! After many requests, we're happy to share this episode of Middle Ground with you all! In this episode, we explore belief, science, and how our experiences shape our worldview. We'd love to hear your thought

There's a saying: "winning an argument against a smart person is hard, but winning an argument against an ignorant person is impossible"
  • It's hard to win an argument against a smart person, but it's impossible to win an argument against an ignorant person
  • Im floored by the nerve that the flat earthers called the scientists uneducated while the scientists had the respect to not come forward.
  • @pogo_lemon
"im an astrophysicist" "well i live on the beach" 💀
  • @Han-tt5hg
'I don't think you guys are uneducated, I think you are wrongly educated.' How to politely offend your opponent 101
  • Flat earther: “Ancient civilizations believed that the earth was flat” Ancient civilizations: have human sacrifices for better harvest
  • @johngaynor3819
“ never believed it until my husband died and I was grieving and trying to cling on to his memory” I’m paraphrasing obviously but that lady needed counselling not dragging into the flat Earth cult
  • @TimZoet
The best argument against a flat earth is capitalism. If the earth was flat, the edge of the world would be the #1 destination advertisement for your honey moon or next vacation
  • @phil2245
Change the title to: How to frustrate 3 scientists.
  • @Pyriphlegeton
    "I'm Ali, I'm a theoretical physicist." "I'm Shelleeey and I'm a free thinkeeeerrrr"
  • @haslahali746
"Do you see the other side as uneducated?".. flat earthers ran to their chairs when the actual educated scientist just stood there in disbelief.. as they should in this situation. I'm scared for the future of mankind!!
  • @darksparkle9849
The flat earther at the end telling the scientists to “do their own research” 😂
  • @chi-e
notice the difference between.. flat earther: “i’d like to tear them to pieces” scientists: “i’m open to having a discussion”
  • @kaxiko1066
imagine getting your bachelors/masters degree in science, mathematics and engineering spending three years in professional training becoming an astrophysicist at NASA and then getting called "uneducated" by someone named Dan the Waterman
  • Shelley - “wHy CaN i SeE tHe IsLaNd?!” Also Shelley 20 seconds later - “atmospheric refraction is only a valid argument when it suits my viewpoint and I don’t need to explain why it works in one instance under extreme magnification, but not identical circumstances to refute your evidence-backed argument.”
  • “Critical thinker” is another way of saying: “I’m ignorant and have my own opinion”
  • @starlight420
Thousands of years ago someone made an adult bedtime story and they thought the earth was flat. Therefore the earth is flat 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦
