Matt Barnes opened up at length about his personal life and his long career in the NBA, and he started out by giving a back story on his early years in San Jose. He went on to speak about getting into basketball and his shaky start into professional sports and the NBA.

The interview moved on from Matt's upbringing and start and focused on the rise and fall of his relationship with Gloria Govan and Shaq convincing him to do Vh1's Basketball Wives. Matt also spoke about his infamous run-in with his former friend Derek Fisher after learning that Fisher was dating his ex-wife and was around his kids, which led to an altercation. I don't know if anybody tells a story like Matt Barnes. The level of detail in his stories makes you feel like you were there.

Matt Barns is an amazing MAN! Character! Integrity! Hard worker! Humble! Decent! Family man! Real! His story is sad but his rise above all the turmoil, disadvantages, heart aches, and roadblocks is impressive. I like him.

What a great interview! The only thing I knew about Barnes was he was talented but considered a bad boy in the NBA. This interview reveals a lot more. Glad he’s able to reflect and discuss what he dealt with and learned from. He’s super detailed in how he remembers everything too. Would be great to hear from on podcasts like Joe Rogan where they can just chill and talk about whatever.
