11 Tips for Beginner Witches | Baby witch tips & tricks

Published 2021-05-07
Here is my second video on tips and tricks for beginner witches.
I already did a very, very extensive video on this topic titled a Step-by-step guide to witchcraft - tips for beginner witches, which is packed with witchcraft advice and baby witch tips and tricks. It might also come in super handy when you are just starting out and want some sort of guide to witchcraft and know where and how exactly to start with research, practicing, finding your type of witchcraft, or easy ways to practice witchcraft every day.
In today's video I won't be repeating these basic tips for beginner witches, but if you are curious, definitely go over after this and watch it:    • HOW TO BECOME A REAL WITCH | Tips for...

In today's video, we will, amongst other things, speak about the necessity to get your hands dirty instead of endless pouring over witchcraft books, discover why a lot of witch rules are there to be broken, chat about safe and unsafe witchcraft practices and learn about the witch aesthetic.
But now, let's hop on our broomsticks and see what's to discover.
By the way: I personally don't really vibe with the term baby witch and do much prefer just witch, or beginner witch - but I know a lot of you are searching for baby witch tips & tricks, so I included that in the title ;-)

  • Baby Witch Tip - Find something simple that really interests you and start there. Candle Magic, Tarot, Growing Herbs or things that don't take up a lot of time or money. Simple things will give you great results if you put true intention in them. Also, HAVE FUN!!!
  • @Erizou90
"magic without the mundane doesn't work" - how true! You won't be able to become a concert pianist, if you don't practice enough every day. Magic will help you fulfil your potential, but we have to do the active part and then give magic the chance to work. 🌸 Thank you for keeping our feet on the ground and keeping it real!

I'm 69 years old and have to live with my elderly parents that are devoted "christians". So I have my own bedroom. I started my first altar without instructions. I am not allowed to be a witch so I do it in secret. I was out in their backyard that has a lot of trees and a brook. I went across the bridge and something drew my attention to my feet. There was about 4 very large acorns. First thing I thought was they were a gift from Mother Earth and I thanked her. I the found a few oak leaves that were attached to a little twig. I found other things. I decided I would put them on my chester drawers next to my TV that I don't watch. It has a black screen. I had bought a ghost that sings trick or treat and flashes different colors. I put that up there too. I had made and painted a piece of foam of a pumpkin and put it behind the ghost. To me that is a way to acknowledge the fall and Halloween. Then I asked my mother if I could buy a Jack-o-Lantern and put it on the front porch. She said yes. I almost passed out from holding my breath thinking she was going to give me a lecture on witchcraft being evil. The pumpkin is ceramic. Then I bought a couple of pomegranates and a real small pumpkin for making a pumpkin latte. All these things are my altar. And me crossing my fingers. So, in my situation I have to put my altar in my bedroom. My mother thinks I'm just decorating for fall. I just don't know what to do other than look at it and enjoy the season.

I'm a starter witch but I'm male, and 45 years old. I sometimes feel like I have no business being a witch due to gender and age. It feels like witches are only young, female and beautiful like you, at least from what I see online. But I'll continue to do what feels right for me. Great video! I learned about you through Alwyn Oak and her forest journeys and DIY lol! I am now a subscriber of yours as well.

You're such a helpful, down to earth, practical person. You've really made witchcraft accessible to me, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that!
  • @AidanEvolves
That first tip is pure gold! I'm the type to overprepare for everything, and my witchy practice is no different. So much reading, so little actual ✨ practice ✨... thanks for this reminder to jump in and actually do stuff. Also, I'm relatively new to your community so I just feel the need to say again that I love your videos! A perfect blend of information + aesthetics + humour + realness. Thank you for all the work you put into your content!
  • @WitchyNectar
“Tiny little demon kids”... haha.... exactly what I call them and why my altar is in my room. XD
  • I have found doing daily "mundane" work builds the magic throughout the week. By the weekend, when I actually have time to focus on my practice for longer periods of time, I feel as if my magical energies have increased. If I don't do anything during the week I find the energies are harder to build up, as if I have lost touch. My daughter has also commented on the difference, "the house doesn't feel as magical mom".
  • @laiarato
I love that you mentioned "you can go outside and find a stick that you like and decide it's your wand" because I literally walked past a stick one day and felt suuuuuper drawn to it for some reason, it had never happened before, so I picked it up and carried it with me all day then brought it home and wondered if I could use it as a wand lmao
  • I love your approach. When I first took up the craft as a 14yo baby, I was so put off by the dogma and people I met in Wiccan AOL chats (lol I’m old) and I never really had anyone to differentiate WITCH from WICCAN. I’ve been living a green witch’s life for decades afraid to use the word because I thought it had to be attached to well... basically another church/religion full of rules, creepy men (my experience), and stuff I didn’t like/believe. I’m a little bummed I let those mean adults in the 90s run me away from a term I’ve always had in my heart. ✨💜 Thanks for all you do!
  • @justbeasmr
I’ve been a witch for 6 months now and this is by far the best and most real ‘tips for baby witches’ type video I’ve seen. And I have seen a lot of them. I’m a new sub now! You have such a realistic and refreshing viewpoint and I really appreciate your common sense, acceptance and honesty. You also make me laugh! Thank you and as a newer green witch I’m psyched to dive into all of your existing videos and see future ones soon!
  • @sujubits
I've always had an interest in witchcraft but I haven't started practicing. I'm so glad I found your channel. It's inspiring me again! Thanks for all your videos :)
  • I have known I was a witch for years, but NEVER tried anything because of my faith. BUT YOU have shown me different. THANK YOU!!❤
  • I want to thank you for all you do and your honesty. I am born onto witchcraft. My first tarot deck was when I was about 9yrs old. My grandmother had her alter as do I in my meditation room. I consider myself a healing and cookery witch. I came to earth this life to serve and heal. Best to you and your family.

Our home is over 100 years old and while digging in the back garden, I found a very old mason jar that had been used as a spell jar. It was full of ancient rotten material... and we totally broke it with a shovel... then spent a ton of time picking it out of the ground to keep our kids away from it... so yeah. Don’t bury glass people.
  • @tmorrison2159
I like the whole “you experience your witchcraft yourself”. I think if you come to this naturally -like most do - you already have it in you to succeed. As I’ve gotten older I think it gets easier too. Life lessons and wisdom helps to become your true self. Just try what feels right and makes you happy.
  • @27sparkle73
I love the gentleness of Wicca it’s so peaceful but I’m not for rules so I like the idea of spiritual beliefs separate from practicing witchcraft so you can believe whatever you want or not believe anything at all
  • I started past Beltane, start at a later age than many witches and the advantage is life experience. Like that, there is already this “I do what feels right”-attitude. So that also means I am not obliging anything to myself and so I am a witch but without defining myself as such or such witch. So yes I agree with you a lot 😊 and safety is very important, especially fire and poisonous plants. This last section I prefer to wait 😅 you are funny 😄
  • I love this. I have much the same thinking. Magic for me is often best when kept simple. I started my path with Wicca, but looking back at my childhood, I was walking a Fae way long before that. I can remember at 5 feeling very connected to nature and all things in it. Now at 50 I'm ready to settle into my Crone stage and my mystical and elemental magical side. I love doing work with the elements associated with the Zodiac. I think what beginner witches need to know is that witchcraft is a journey that can evolve over time and will probably take them to interesting places. I may have started Wiccan and with Moon worship, but my journey had me including Toaism, Norse and Christian in my practices. This has helped me keep things balanced throughout the changes in my life. I love that the grimoire I use most is my main cookbook which has not only my favourite recipes, but some handed down from my mom.
  • @GinnyMetheral
I particularly like the don’t fall for a scam! People ask me all the time to be their mentor and I never agree as you need to be with someone, and actually want to help them personally - well that I what I think.
