The Norden 901 is a great motorcycle, but mine called Stuart will now make someone else happy. Instead I am downsizing!

All pictured accessories were paid fully by myself, I have no sponsors.

Congratulations! 701 is an awesome bike, I had it for two years and over 20k happy km. Interestingly, I have just sold my Husky and moved to 890 Enduro R (sister bike to your ex 901). I feel how much heavier it is when moving the bike in the garage, luckily much less on the move. But your story of manouvering the bike on the hill will probably hit me one day too :) All the best from Poland and have many great rides with your new bike!
  • I ride a 2022 KTM690 same bike just different colour I recommend getting a side stand dongle otherwise you will be stuck in the bush and also get a fuel sock to place in the tank where you fill it, of course it makes filling up a lot slower but it will save your fuel pump

Great choice. I regret selling my 690. I crashed in to a car which was doing an illegal u-turn once. It stoved the back quarter of the car inwards and I feared the worse for the bike. I need not have worried, there was no damage to the 690. The 701/690 is one tough bike, so I wouldn't worry about dropping it once in a while.
  • Hallo Kai-Uwe, to improve fuel storage capacity you should consider fuel bladder, like the ones from Giant loop. Have a good one Cheers Michael

I downsized from the Tiger 900 RP to the 701 Enduro as well. More fun, less worries, no regrets. 😎✌️

I haven´t tried the 701/690 but would love to have one! I have a t7 today and i really like it and won´t sell it. But hopefully one day i would be able to have one t7 and one 701 🙂

Nice set up Kai.Uwe!
  • I am thinking of either a Norden or a 701. i plan to go really far, from Sweden to Cape Town, so ergonomics are really important. How is the seat on the 701, and is there a comfort seat? At the moment I am, for comfort reasons leaning towards the Norden, but a lighter bike would also be nice...

Really the only choice, the 690/701 if you want decent power, suspension and some modern electronics. I have a 22 690 which has the Radegarage tank. You are correct re the lean running of these Euro5 motors but I have an Australian made fuel dongle which richens the mix. One negative, the bike gets poor consumption, maybe 17km/litre. I have a similar radiator guard and use the enduro footpegs, which are much better. I also have a similarly modified 500 which is 40kg lighter and the best dirt bike ever made but I miss the ABS, quickshifter, slipper clutch and greater smoothness and quietness of the 690. You are right, the seat is too high and I am thinking of fitting my 25mm lowering link. Someone said once, choose your bike for the worst terrain you will encounter. Sounds like you found that terrain and have now made the correct choice. You can easily cruise on these bikes, you don't need 2 cylinders.
  • How did you solve the problem with the heat from the catalytic converter, which is strongly felt on the lower part of the legs on norden 901if i may ask?
  • @oli-no-way
