I have been doing this myself for many years. I like to cut my stuff to the height of my eyes and use it as a monopod for my binoculars. I dipped the bottom tip in rubber cement to install the end cap. I also cut a 30 inch soft leather strap and lace it to the upper end. Back in the 80s people would tease me and call me Moses. Not long after everybody had one.

Bamboo is an exceptionally good wood (actually its' a type of grass) for hiking staffs. It is light weight, ounce for ounce, much stronger than wood. I made a walking stick about 10 years ago, coated the barrel under the wrap with contact cement and then wrapped with plain old sisal twine. The wrap never came loose and I've been using it constantly for 10 years. Good video for a fun hobby😀😀Cheers.

What an awesome video! Looking forward to watching your YT channel grow. Since you love Dad jokes ......If slow old men use walking sticks, what do fast old men use?  Answer: Hurry canes.....lol
  • Where in the US can you get bamboo like that? Here in the southwest it's too dry for Tonkin bamboo.
