Stunning watch. But I totally get you. I started with a Yacht-Master, and then I thought I wanted a watch like this, or a Saxonia. But I knew I wouldn’t wear a leather strap watch much. I went with a DateJust, smooth bezel with the jubilee bracelet. It’s so versatile, can be smart or casual, I wear it all the time. Leather straps just aren’t for me.

Thanks for the review. I recently purchased the same watch in rose gold. It's about two years old and is a slight upgrade in terms of the movement with a power reserve of 43 hours and a slight downgrade in terms of a tang buckle rather than a deployant. I think these make fine dress watches both in steel and gold. As far as the date complication, like Dr. M in his comments to me the date is often unreadable with my aging eyes, but I'm ok with that as the numerals are so small that I don't really notice them. My only knock is that the crown is really tight, making it difficult to pull out to set the time. Do you have the same issue? If I ever have it serviced, I'm going to ask JLC to take a look at it. So I too keep it on a watch winder. I too don't often have the occasion to wear a dress watch, but I find dress watches to be very pretty compared to sports watches and have a couple in my modest collection.

I love this watch. Thinking of getting the black dial version. But I also love the white. Issue is, for the price of a new one, I can get an older version in all gold. But then that’s got the older movement who’s finishing isn’t as good, nor is the power reserve. Wondering what to do.

I wonder if you picked this one up from eBay in August, I was inches away from pulling the trigger on. Love this watch. I do have an IWC Portuguese Chrono love the creamy dial. Wondering if the silver dial would look as nice. It's a lovely watch, however. Total grail for me.
