Being a self-taught aspiring jeweler, I've watched ALOT of videos and have read ALOT of material. This video is one of the very best. It's concise but informative, friendly but without the unnecessary chit chat. Thank you. I can't wait to try the wet packing.

Hi, John. My name is Ed Sipes. You are truly a treasure. I honestly learn more real jewelry working in a few minutes of watching your videos than hours of others. Thank you for what you do. Now, to my point, do you have instructional videos that I can purchase? I've looked but I'm on my phone and I miss things easily on it. if you do offer this, please leave a link that even a dumb old man can follow. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Thank you very much!!!. You're an incredible teacher. You encourage us to continue trying...
  • What a find! What a treasure you are? I always thought enamelling needed a kiln. I'll be spending a lot of time on these, Many thank yous'.
  • Hi John,  Thank you for your video's.  I have learned a lot from them.  I have a lot of ceramic paint laying around can I use that on my metal jewelry?

Thank you John . I am sorry for the first comment. I did not know that you receive it because the sending did not complete. I will keep learning with your and the other videos. Thank you very much.

Just received a starter enamel kit for Christmas, your video was a great look into different ways to use the enamel. I have several questions though. 1. my kit has a holding agent. Is that the same as the Klyr fire? 2. You said to move the piece to a warm surface. Would a candle warmer be appropriate or would that be too hot? I just discovered your videos and am looking forward to checking out more. Thank you for the great information!
  • Hi there! Love your classes! What kind of torch are you using for these examples of copper enameling?

Hi John, thank you for your videos . They are really helpful. I am from Iraq and I am a beginner in jewelry making . I work with Gold 21k but I have no idea which kind of enamel to deal with ? Cold or with heat ? Is Martha Stewart's enamel good choice ? I have many questions about Gold 21k making jewelry so how could you help me ? Thank you John.

Hi, john What's the ratio of klyr fire to distilled water ? Thanks...
  • Where do I buy a piece of stainless steel mesh? Love your classes, fun and educational!
  • Hi John, Can you tell me what the difference is, if any, between wet packing and painting with enamel. I see there is enamel for painting, but have never seen anything showing how to do it. thanks.
  • @LowReedExpert1
Would it be possible to enamel one side of a piece, and then enamel the opposing side? I mean, the enamel wouldn't melt or burn or something I'd imagine, if that second piece can be compared to this scenario right?
  • @johnderwin
Hi John how thick does a piece silver have to be so you don't have to counter enamel.. thanks
  • Hi, Thanks for ur help video but the problem is I don't know exactly the brand of ur enamel and the liquid u use. Would u mind share such info? Thank you so much
