Most of us town-and-city dwellers spend our days pounding hard, paved ground. But in Giethoorn, Holland, residents float through canals. Built without roads, a series of waterways and bridges connect the town’s 2,400 residents. This incredible aquatic infrastructure has even earned the town the nickname “Little Venice.” We have to admit, a life without asphalt, gridlock and the DMV sounds pretty enchanting.

Everyone's talking about boat. And all I want to say is how green and clean this town is. No heavy pollution, just a great scenery of water and vegetation.

For anyone in the US wanting to experience something like this, Mackinaw Island is in Northern Michigan & has no cars. They get around by horse & bike. It’s a beautiful place, “Somewhere in Time” was filmed there and they have amazing fudge/taffy as well!

I love Netherlands I’ve been there 30 times since I was a child cause my family lives there and trust me it’s so peaceful I love it so much so many countrysides, lakes, quiet cafes and even you enjoy going to shopping, and sightseeing is beautiful, I wouldn’t mind living there

I lived in the Netherlands for 11 years. Zuid Holland. A fantastic country, especially the countryside. It is super beautiful, very clean and organized. Some villages look like a painting. I have no complaints.
