In late 2009 a successful campaign was launched by Jon Morter and his then wife Tracy to promote an alternative to the omnipresent X-Factor winner being the Christmas #1 in the UK singles chart. The track they nominated as the alternative was “Killing In The Name” by Rage Against The Machine. The band supported the campaign, donated the proceeds from the sales to charity and lead singer Zack de la Rocha promised that Rage Against The Machine would perform a free concert in the UK to celebrate the achievement. This went ahead in London’s Finsbury Park on 6th June 2010 and is captured on this film. It is an exuberant performance by the band with the audience cheering them all the way to the inevitable climax of “Killing In The Name”.

Now THAT is what a decent crowd looks and sounds like! No standing around pointing phones at the stage. Heads having it LARGE!

I was at this show, it was absolute CHAOS. The perimeter fence got broken down and thousands of extra people got into the crowd, there was a massive, palpable energy in the crowd, and after the show when the police turned up to control the crowds leaving the park to get to trains and buses, they were met with "F YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!" 😂😂😂

I'm not really a big fan of RATM since this is the only song of theirs that I listen to. But that moment at 0:43 really gave me goosebumps. You can see the absolute happiness on Zack's face. This is the kind of crowd that every musician wants.

Hard to believe this video is from this decade. There's absolutely no phones in that crowd at all

I wish this song to played all across the world. It's time for a revolution.

I was listening to Rage in the 90's...good to see this generation still listens to them ✊
  • I would sell my soul to whoever gets them to make a new record. With all the insanity breaking out all over the world, their lyrics is needed more than ever.
  • Feels so weird. I look at the title and see 2010 and think "oh that wasn't so long ago" to realize it was twelve years ago...
  • Rockstar of 70's 80's 90's and early 00's are still lucky as the smart phone never exist during those time. Everyone is enjoying this beast!

I love how British crowds sing along to the guitar parts in songs lol. "do-do-duh-duh" what an incredible crowd. Zach looks like he is loving every second. This was the kind of gig that musicians dream of.
