  • Your story about your first fast bike reminds me of mine on a brand spanking new '87 Honda Hurricane 600 that belonged to the mechanic I took my car to as a kid. I was admiring the bike and he said, "You know how to ride?" I said I did, failing to mention that the biggest, fastest bike I'd ever ridden at that point was my uncles '70's something 250XR. Mechanic says, "Here, take it out and open it up." Yeah, he did, I kid you not. That was 30 plus years ago, the place was called "Master Tune" in Gallup, NM. I can still see the bike in my mind... yes, those first fast rides stick with you! I'd like to say I took it out and ripped up 66 on it (Highway 66 runs through Gallup), but I'd be lying. I got out on the road, slipped it into second and gently twisted the throttle and had my teeth pulled to the back of my throat. I idled the bike in second back to his shop and thanked him. He laughed and said, "Yeah, I'm scared of it too!"

I was working at Harley in the wheel department when this bike was introduced. The race wheels were very light but would bend if you weren’t careful when you mounted the tires. The cool thing was sound of it in the roll test booth!

If it's just going to sit around anyway, who cares if the motor's blown. I say take her to the track.

"Dont let your daughter go to prom with a kid named Destroyer." That's just good life advice right there.

“So we looked at the bike and everything is fine.” “So it’s safe?” “No”
  • Those 21 bikes are not stashed. Harley gave them to pro race teams and I know MMI Orlando has one. One of my Screaming Eagle instructors has one, but he races top fuel now. His wife races a turbo Sportster.

Old Harley Guy: I'm glad they got rid of that stupid V Rod that's not a Harley After this video: BRING IT BACK!
  • @87Lowbird
Love those bikes. Seems it would be worth checking valve clearance, and replacing the valve springs for good measure on that particular bike and putting it back to it's real use.

This video is great! I don’t even mess with Harleys but the commentary and intro was great, had me laughing man, enjoying all your videos.
  • Sean if y'all were best friends u would air that front tire up 😂

When you see "dunlop" badging on any tyre out there.....then it means shit got real😂
  • owned and raced one of these when they came out. I can tell you what the engine sounds like when its coming apart at 130 plus on the strip lol. that was an expensive rebuild. Ended up selling it and started racing a busa.
  • @shitzke1
loved the video, my 2nd bike was a 82' Virago 750 twin. Great bike...carbs would always need adjusting to keep synced.
