VN24 - 09/29/2021 - Porta Westfalica / Germany - Fortunately, no one was injured in a serious truck accident on the A2 freeway in the direction of Hanover (eastbound). Between the Veltheim and Bad Eilsen junctions, the 56-year-old driver of an articulated truck with Polish registration had to stop on the hard shoulder at around 12:50 a.m. apparently because of a flat tire. Only a short time later, a car transporter approached on the right lane. The 46-year-old driver veered slightly to the right from his lane for reasons that have not yet been explained and struck the stationary semitrailer. In the process, the entire tarpaulin of the truck tore open. The car transporter was very badly damaged. Most of the loaded passenger cars were also very badly damaged. The cars had to be recovered from the upper loading area with the help of a mobile crane (car crane). All vehicles were towed away. The entire action dragged on into the evening hours. Traffic was jammed for more than 15 kilometers at times.

Slight bit of confusion here. It was an articulated truck with a flat tyre stationary on the hard shoulder, that was hit by the car transporter. Resulting in not only damage to the transporter, but extensive damage to the 7 cars that it was carrying.

Appart from another good video from VN24, can anyone explain why the cars had to removed from the transporter. Why not drive it to the nearest lorry park and unload it there and thus reopening the road quicker ?

warum hat man nicht einfach eine neue zugmaschine beordert sondern jeden pkw einzeln abtransportiert🤔...weil wird ja teurer und dauert viel länger diese vorgehensweise hier
