    Not letting it marinate for 24 hours Is an absolute waste of the buttermilk 0 benefit or flavor.

    Anyone can make buttermilk by adding one teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice per cup of milk and let it stand for 10-15 minutes. This way you always "have" buttermilk for any recipe.
