Join the Amoeba Sisters on this introduction to the Nervous System! This video briefly describes the division of the central nervous system (including going over some general areas of the brain) and the peripheral nervous system before exploring some divisions of the peripheral nervous system (somatic and autonomic, parasympathetic and sympathetic). Then the video outlines glial cells and neurons before introducing the action potential and neurotransmitters.

  • Just so you know, practically everyone in my science class loves your videos. Please never stop because I want to see more videos in class
  • You guys are probably 90% of the reason why i passed my biology/science final thank you amoebas so much
  • This is insanely good timing. Thank you so much Amoeba sisters!
  • @marinax2960
your channel single handedly got me through my first general biology course in college. not just getting me through but passing with an almost perfect final score! tysm Amoeba Sisters!
  • @GCTTR612
Looking back, these guys were the reason I majored in bio in university. Now I have a Master's degree. Thanks Amoebas!!!
  • @allisonoboe88
I can't say enough how much your videos have helped in my A&P and microbiology courses! Anytime I have trouble understanding something, I look for an Amoeba Sisters video first! The information is well laid out, the animations are funny and help me connect things (I'm a big visual learner), and you don't present the information like we're doctoral biology grad student, but you also don't dumb it down. Great job!!
  • @zoe_jimone
The nervous system is kind of difficult to grasp, but it’s interesting and amazing and the way you present it makes it understandable. Kudos!
  • @tayahwhite8882
as someone studying nursing, these videos have saved me
  • Thank you, Amoeba sisters! Even though your videos are simple, they still give sooo much useful information that is much needed for science :) Keep up the great work!!
  • @ghosties1068
Omg yes! This was so helpful. And yes I agree a video explaining membrane potentials in the future would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for making such amazing videos!
  • @kri1670
A couple days ago I searched youtube videos to find information about the nervous system, and this is exacly what i need! It also perfect timing! I am gratefull that you two make such star sparkle awsome content!! Thank you, Amoeba sisters. You make studying biology more fun :D
  • @beemichelle2276
Wow. This makes me feel like I CAN and WANT to learn. THANK YOU. I NEEDED THIS.
  • @amberlittle5837
Honestly, my uni lecturers should just use these videos instead. Felt like I understood nothing from my 2 hour lecture on the nervous system, whereas I understood more from this 12 minute clip. Thank you!!
  • I actually can’t believe you guys posted these right before I’m about to take my TEAS test haha, I’m 21 and I still use your channel for school!
  • @ameliaconley8863
thank you so much I have a test tomorrow on the nervous system, endocrine system and homeostasis and I needed to study since we have been having relief teachers for the the past few weeks and have barely learnt anything but this was a massive help ❤
  • @mr.anonymous3
Yaay! We just started to study this in our biology classes. 😂 I always got confused between sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. Your trick is gonna help me A LOOTT! Thanks a lot! 😇
  • My teacher puts videos of you guys in class and I always get excited when he does cus I love you guys 😊
  • @anandjha7311
I was very confused in CNS now you make it crystal clear .. I am preparing for medical entrance exam . Love from india❤
