Space Shuttle Endeavour Flyby September 2012
Increadable footage of the Space Shuttle Endeavour making it's last piggy back flight to it's final home in Los Angeles. The Space Shuttle Endeavour was the final shuttle built as part of the shuttle program. She made her first flight in May 1992, to deliver a satellite to space. Over the course of her career, she flew 25 missions in all, ending in May 2011. Endeavour spent 296 days, 3 hours, 34 minutes, 2 seconds in space.Today, the Space Shuttle Endeavour is on permanent exhibition at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, California. The Endeavour is housed in a special building designed to be its permanent home, the Samuel Oschin Pavilion. As the California Science Center is a massive campus of exhibits focusing on a variety of science topics, the Endeavour is just one of the fascinating experiences you can have at this Los Angeles science museum. Eventually, there were six shuttles in all: Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, Endeavour, and Enterprise. Over the course of 30 years, the shuttles completed 135 missions, helping NASA deliver payloads to space, such as the Hubble Space Telescope, and build Skylab and the International Space Station. #davekentlive #davekent #sanfranciscobayarea
