Each week, former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett and a panel of comedians, actors, journalists, and some of the many, many famous Friends of the Pod break down the week’s biggest news and make fun of whatever bullshit came out of our insane political nightmare factory.

Crooked Media believes that we need a better conversation about politics, culture, and the world around us—one that doesn’t just focus on what’s broken, but what we can do to fix it. We are a media network that showcases stories, voices, and opportunities for activism that inform, entertain, and inspire action, because it’s up to all of us to do our part to build a better world.

That’s it. End of mission.

John Quincy Adams was John Adams son who had been on a ton of diplomatic missions and after serving one term went back to the Senate had a brain aneurysm, speaking out against slavery on the Senate floor collapsed, and died two days later! He was the only president that went back to the Senate after serving one term as President!

As an Italian, you all have the green light to keep up the accent and the 🤌. Culture is culture and we're damn proud of ours.

Anybody still not seeing these episodes on their homepage? I've been subscribed for a year at least, even turned on notifications last week, and still I can scroll a 100+ videos and not see a new video from this channel that's been posted for hours.

The comment about going back and killing Hitler reminds me of the Deadpool post-credits scene where he travels back in time to kill baby Hitler but ends up changing his diaper instead...

3:37 - It's the discrimination written into the constitution thing that makes the first Black woman President so much more significant in the US than the first Indian heritage woman President 8n the US.
  • This was both hilarious and informative. The bit around 23:36 where Holmes breaks down the morality of publicly boosting art made by abusers was as unexpected as it was wise. This was brilliant.
  • Not quite dad energy, more like a real good friend you can count on. You feel it with him.

Will never forget his appearance on Getting Doug With High.

It took me to my mid-20s to realize that my immediate family was the weirdo family in the extended family. I had assumed that we were all fundamentalist Christians with the same values. Turns out, even though I felt the extended family was close-knit, they were always walking on eggshells around us, trying to avoid offending our delicate sensibilities. Fundies have always been the weirdos, wanting to be persecuted for their beliefs while also having their beliefs dictate the norms of the society around them. When the protective bubble they put around themselves is burst and they’re forced to realize how weird they are, they really don’t like that.

Wow I could listen to these three guys all day. Pete Holes is amazing. I'm def looking up his Pod.
  • I was watching a reel where Russell Crowe tells a story about an Italian priest he met at the Vatican. Crowe does an impersonation of the priest's Italian and this caused an argument in the comments with someone calling Crowe racist. I've been to Italy 🇮🇹 twice and live in Toronto where there are many Italian Canadians from many regions. I did not think that Crowe was that far off the mark and that he told the story well.
