Exceptional Engineering: The Plane Makers – A Hightech Aircraft on the Assembly Line | Engineering Documentary
The Airbus factory in Hamburg-Finkenwerder is one of the world's largest sites for modern aerospace construction and assembly. 365 days a year, over 16,000 workers and engineers design, produce and deliver industry leading aircraft, in cooperation with other sites throughout the European Union.
The backbone of Airbus logistics: Beluga, the cargo plane. 2,500 wing segments, cockpits and hulls are transported annually between the eleven airbus production sites located throughout the EU by the super reliable Belugas.

What stood out for me was the focus on quality at every level. Delivering such complex aircraft to the exacting standards each time is simply phenomenal.

I used to be a massive Boeing fan, but after watching these airbus documentaries, I think those damn European engineers won me over. Go airbus!

I enjoy videos like this..... And I miss Discovery Channel from 15 years ago, it was a better era.
  • @Firedog105
It’s mind blowing humans can take raw material and turn it into that.

Great doco.. and not a single "the slightest delay could be catastrophic!"... then moments later "but there's a problem with..."
  • Amazing!! I like how they show the whole process on putting an airplane together. The techs have a very important job making sure that those airplanes are built correctly and that it can safely fly.

This is just 1% or less shown to us in this Documentary, there's so much more details gone into making the Aircraft.. All I can say is this is one of the marvelous enginnered thing made by humans. Period

The logistics must be insane. I can’t imagine it. Like everything with flying, it all seems like a miracle. From building a plane so it flies safe to the actual airport logistics. Wow.

Just when I think I’m running a million dollar business efficiently, I see this! Incredible teamwork and planning here. Always been a huge fan of Airbus over Boeing. From an outside perspective it just always seemed like they focused on their customer as Boeing was all about hype and profits. Just my observation.

What amazes me more after watching this video, is the fact that a bunch of crudely trained men and housewives could have built over 3,900 B-29s successfully during WWII without all the sophisticated technology of today. As a very young child. I remember them flying by the dozens over my hometown, a few miles from Wichita, KS.

This is the kind of show Discovery made back when it wasn't complete shit. Congrats to the people making this show.

Airbus make fantastic airplanes the technical complexity and the attention to detail is simply mind boggling.

  • @Aprilium
I'd like to see a documentary on manufacturing stuff like rockets, jet skis , electric trains and destroyers in the future. You guys give good docs though.
  • @classicjonesy
Engineers are my favourite kind of people.. freaken smart dudes, as someone who deals in software engineering its amazing to see the two come together.
  • This is an awesome way to show how these planes are made! Even the paint job is heavily scrutinized!
  • Salam dari indonesia 🇲🇨, vidio ini sangat bermanfaat.. thank u free documentery 😊
