Jim Ratcliffe tried to buy the rights and tooling to the old Defender, but they refused. Jag/Land Rover then took him to court, claiming he copied their design, but failed. Originally, it was going to be built in the UK.

Not a suprise Tesla ignored Hoovies deposit, the best towing channel on Youtube. Similar happen to TFL.

Anyone else find it hilarious Hoovie is hawking a debt company? 😂

Steel wheels dont crack when you are off-road. You can also bang out any dents in them to reseal a tyre.

ZF is it's own company not BMW, ZF transmissions details those automotive transmissions created by the German ZF Friedrichshafen AG engineering company.

Axles are proper and by Carraro, Transfer case by Tremec, Frame and suspension development by Magna Steyr and a steering box that won't break your thumbs off-road - done right and then some!
  • It's not without its issues, on RHD models the steering damper hangs right down, there's an awkward lump in the driver's footwell, the control arms on the axles are quite short, limiting potential lift, the wheel arches are quite small, limiting tyre size, and you have to be very creative to squeeze in a long range fuel tank (although that last one is probably only an issue for Australians). Despite all of that, I'd take it in a heartbeat over a Cybertruck.

I like this B58 powered beast a million times better than the electric monstrosity you wanted to get!

The Grenadier has a single turbo inline-six, and a de-tuned one at that. The BMW B58, rather than the twin turbo S58 from the M3/M4. In the Grenadier it makes 282 hp down from 380+, it's tuned for more low RPM torque. So it's exactly what you like, an unstressed BMW power unit. The B58 is an amazingly good engine, as most inline-six's are.
  • "Describe the vehicle without saying G-Wagon" I'm sure was in his instructions for the sponsorship.
  • Does the AC work? They come from the factory with AC system leaks, usually alloy pipes not welded properly.

The lack of a gauge cluster in front of the driver is a huge miss
  • After this 20 minute commercial, I wouldn't be surprised if Hoovie becomes the local dealer for Ineos!

The only reason for having a rule in the contract that you can't sell your new veicle when you get it is because they are closing of the possibility to buy it without giving money in forhand so they have money to make the veicle and delivering whenever....

I don't understand buying any special edition Tesla. They aren't going to be collector cars. No one is going to be paying insane auction prices for any Tesla 50-60 years from now. They aren't much different than appliances, in my opinion. Very expensive appliances. But its like a refrigerator. You buy it, use it for 10-12 years, if you're lucky, it quits working and you buy another one. I'm in Ohio and I haven't seen a Cybertruck yet. I've seen a ton of Rivians, though.
  • My guess, Tyler, is that since you're friend with Rich and Rich is persona non grata at Tesla, Tesla put you on their black list as well.

I see a Cyber Truck every single day now driving around Lake Tahoe.
