We are not allowed to use rulers or sticks on the atelier I am studying, just the plumb line. In order to better train the eye.
  • Thank you for sharing. I'm new to Bargue and have made it up to this plate. Your videos are so instructive. I have always wanted to learn Charles Bargue but just haven't been able to get to it. I am now retired and my granddaughter that I raised has graduated high school and entered the army. I'm so excited to have instruction as well as the book because I just couldn't get it until I saw how it was done.

Another great video, I found copying Bargue plates very helpful in training my eye
  • This was the clearest explanation of the Bargue drawing method Ive found on YouTube. Wish I'd found this before I wasted all that time trawling though YouTube! Thank you!!

This is the best explanation of the Bargue drawing process. Thank you so much. Subscribed
  • Wow, thank you so much again Yong!you help me be so much better at drawing!🙏🤗 kind regards, Mary from Australia 😎
  • This is great. I have got a rather good eye for "winging it", but this is a method that wil get it exactly right, without resorting to a grid method ( which feels too much like painting by numbers to me, works like that often have a rather lifeless feel to them I think).

Very nice! Thanks for the video. I'm just getting started, so I appreciate the detailed measuring. May I ask, were you sitting or standing while doing this drawing?
  • @AnAberration
It is superd. You are the inspiration for me and my chhnel.

Sir I tried ur methods and I'm improving my proportions it's not perfect but it is good from previous works
  • @jiangyao302
Thanks for sharing. I do have a question regarding this method. I always thought one needs to train his eyes to improve the proportion. With the assistance of rulers and skewer stick, it seems nothing different than just layering paper over original drawing and get well defined point positions. How can this method help improve ability to copy accurately without assistance?

What type of paper do you use for the Bargue drawing, and how many hours did it take to draw that plate?
